We learned that the Campaign was part of a larger strategy for the Allies in World War I aimed at securing the Dardanelles Strait.
Finally, we arrived at Anzac Cove. Standing on the shores where ANZAC troops landed on April 25, 1915, we felt the weight of history. This area is not just a beautiful beach; it’s a sacred site that has seen unimaginable sacrifice.

As we walked through the area, it was a poignant reminder that both sides experienced great loss, and it’s essential to acknowledge the complexity of this history.
As day one came to a close, we found ourselves back at Anzac Cove as the sun began to set. The beauty of the landscape juxtaposed with the somber history we had learned about today served as a powerful reminder of the price of war.
