- In my quest to become a better beekeeper and to educate others on effective mite control, we’ve taken our show on the road! Our journey through Missouri was truly rewarding with a few stops and several days packed with insights.
One of the highlights of the trip was visiting an apiary maintained by the Summers family. I had a fantastic time learning and sharing experiences. You can check out Natalee’s UA-cam channel for more beekeeping tips and adventures here: Beekeeping With Natalee.

Good times with Natalee!! Great video.
Yes it was!
A great recap of your visit Rob! Thanks for coming to MO and marking a drone for us. 🐝
Nice
About strong nucs: I bought four this spring, and they were really strong and populated, so I had to split more or less the week of installation, and wound up with four more nucs! One had already made swarm cells before pickup..
I’ve had a few queens “faint” after marking, but they get back to normal after a few minutes. Maybe it’s the compression of the thorax from the “ foam in the tube” queen marking method. You don’t compress the thorax, so no fainting.
00:17:26 Was that the queen spotted by the camera man?😮
About laying workers: 3 weeks after no queen, the workers ovaries turn on, and workers lay drone eggs in worker cells, and at capping they dome over.. alternatively, a poorly mated queen can sometimes produce only drones.
Great job Natalie, Rob needs lesson on catching queens.
You got that right! Showed me I have to get out of the office more lol
