    I'd love to see this technique on a cheaper, consumer grade tire.

    Hey Justin, nice meeting you in West Palm today, you asked for suggestions, how about setting up the kart for rain as we saw today?

    40 minutes and still not on. I'm trying to mount a Mojo tire on a GMZ wheel. 1st of all the tire isn't that soft like yours. It seems harder a bit. But my issue is that it is not bending over the wheel.
    One side in on and the other won't get into the groove and bend around the edge. I'm exhausted after 40 minutes. Tried warming the tire a little, applied dish washing soap, etc. Nothing, absolutely nothing. 40 minutes and not one tire is mounted and I need to mount 8 !!!

      Same issue with us. Incredibly difficult, makes me wonder if the type of wheel makes a difference.

    After the tire is inflated do you screw the bead screws all the way in?

    • @kart360
      @kart360  5 років тому

      After the bead pops into place and you've let all the air back out, then you can tighten the bead locks all the way in.

    So do you need to balance the tyre then?

      Yes, I do. Use 1/8 oz weights - usually they are pretty even to start with, so it doesn't take much.

    MG's are much easier. Running Dunlop DFMs and the beads on those seem to have next to no bloody give!

    It's not that easy, telling us it's easy doesn't help anyone.

    Is not that easy on a used soft tyre.

  • @mareksumguy1887
    @mareksumguy1887 8 років тому

    Don't use Windex!!!. Use Silicone grease or proper tire lube!.

    • @sethglenn9022

      Soapy water.

    • @sethglenn9022
      @sethglenn9022 8 років тому

      you certainly don't want grease. the power will just spin the wheel in the tire.

      Whats tire mounting lubricant made from then?

    • @sethglenn9022
      @sethglenn9022 8 років тому +6

      tire lube is vegetable based soap. both do the same. slipery when wet and sticky when its dry. soapy water also doubles as a way to detect leaks.
