About 17 years ago I worked at a truck stop and a homeless guy gave me a roll of quarters, with quarters at both ends. Next day open them and it’s full of metal washers 😂😂

I had someone try to pass a roll of quarters with a few nickels inside. I told them I had to open the roll to count the coins first and that was the end of it.
Something similar also happened to me. Customer had loose coins in sandwich bags, stating they were already counted and the amount. I told him he'd be done faster at the coinstar across the street because I would have to manually count the coins. He decided on waiting and when he saw that I was really ready to count, he changed his mind.
And each time I verified the rolls and counted, I was getting yelled at hahahha. This is why I always verified. Even rolls from banks had arcade tokens and shit
Same here. People would come in and pay for gas with rolled coin and I would open and count every single one. Never considered there would be different coins, I was more concerned about the count being right.

@@nathanh2917 I worked at a gas station for several years and never saw this. Not sure if it would have worked on me. I feel like I would notice the different diameter of the pennies.
@@gblargg That's unlikely, because you'd have to have a roll of dimes that are ALL silver, and if they were replaced with cents they'd all have to be post-1981 zinc-core cents (because those cents weigh 2.5 grams each: the same as silver dimes). If one or more of the dimes were clad rather than silver and if one of more of the cents was 95% copper, it would throw off the expected weight of the roll. The cashier would have to know the weight of a legitimate roll, based on all the above information. And, of course, the cents are larger in diameter than the dimes. One would have to be awfully unlucky AND stupid to be duped by this scam after weighing a roll of coins.
The boss acted like he's seen this before but he was totally ready to be fooled from the start and then was like "well let me check one" instead of checking the very first one.
You would be rich bro. Nearly everyone gets away with it. Yeah they got video evidence that they share with us but the thieves have had no repercussions from stealing from this gas station.

I once thought I dropped my last $50 in a dollar tree and I knew exactly how it would look asking an employee if someone turned in a $50 bill. I got the reaction I expected but luckily I found it in my car I think it was. Any place that sells things cheap is going to attract the scammers.

"Hustle all day"... "Pay up"!
When I was a cashier at a grocery store the produce scale came in handy just weigh them.
Then you reject that roll of silver dimes because they weight the same as a penny...
@@gblargg the paper doesn't count in the weight lol I'm joking around.
I hope you are having a nice day.
@@love4075 A 90% silver dime weighs the same as a penny.
@@gblargg I'm always on the prowl for mercury dimes, I don't think they'd slip past me.
Lol dude tried to short change him afterwards 😂 that's classic
He threw his Grandmama right under the bus🤣🤣
Wouldn’t it be awesome if there was a rare penny in the roll worth thousands.
The scammer becones the scammed
no
😝😝😝😝😝
It happens. But you'd have to sort all the pennies and find someone who'll buy it for thousands. Hell Even a 20$ penny is cool
See it through my boy. You gotta say *plot twist*
The boss acted like he's seen this before but he was totally ready to be fooled from the start and then was like "well let me check one" instead of checking the very first one.
If I had a dime for every time a scammer got away with something in this gas station, I'd have ZERO DIMES!
He actually got away with it, most of these end like that.
You would be rich bro. Nearly everyone gets away with it. Yeah they got video evidence that they share with us but the thieves have had no repercussions from stealing from this gas station.
@@CStrieker it's a reference from a wrestler named Enzo Amoré
did you watch the video? the guy got away
Lol he’s going to hell blaming grandma for his criminal mischief

How diverse!

Funny how his shirt says “drip to hard” you can’t drip to hard trying to pay with pennys 😂
"TOO" ...hard
Also who buys just one alcoholic beverage? I drink to get a buzz and one ain’t doing 💩

I’m waiting for the ultimate scam, a roll of dimes put into a penny roll.
That's too low level. Quarters in a penny roll is more big brain
@@jims7773 no bruh, put some Kennedy half dollars or Susan b Anthony dollars in the penny roll
Gold bricks in a penny roll! They'll never see it coming! Mwahahaha
Did his grandma also give him that shirt? lmao
Your voice is so entertaining it's just your voice alone is gold the rest of it is just there.
His shirt said drip and hes paying for a drink with Penny's lol
Dude didn't even bother putting a dime on each end of the roll. I'm more disappointed by the incompetence.
Me working at a gas station I watch these religiously not for entertainment but for training purposes.
I used to just take those rolls and smack them up against the edge of the counter like an egg to bust them open. Would have loved to see dudes reaction as 50 or so pennies just split open onto the counter.
me too. when i used to work at walmart as a cashier. that’s how they taught us to open them. hahaha
Seriously. How does no one in this entire video understand how to open a coin roll properly? It's like watching the footage of Heisenberg and Pinkman trying to lift a barrel instead of it rolling it.
When I worked as a cashier I hated when they switched to shrink wrapping the change. It was difficult to open the rolls vs the paper rolls.
@@Dolly-Days get a blade to that shit quick and easy

I’m loving the commentary 😂 even told us the flavor!
Exactly $100 worth of dimes? not sketchy at all.... would be smart to do $10-20 at a time (with some loose dimes) @ separate stores
@Charles Naranjo joggers?
@@breiter4798 he's being KKKish.

I work at a dollar tree, this thing happens too it's so dumb 😐
I once thought I dropped my last $50 in a dollar tree and I knew exactly how it would look asking an employee if someone turned in a $50 bill. I got the reaction I expected but luckily I found it in my car I think it was. Any place that sells things cheap is going to attract the scammers.
Could you imagine going to jail for running a change scam and the prosecution roll the evidence and your wearing a Drip to hard shirt 😂
always check the rolls, no matter how much "drip" they got
