Indie devs never run out of ideas for games and I LOVE IT
They ought to make something about cubes. Make a cube society that's racist against circles or something. Why? I don't know, there's probably some story and content that could be made by that route. The cubes could find it highly distressing and offensive that the circles say "Think outside the box," because that goes against everything...
I think it's more like there's just so many developers to choose from even if they only have one idea

Also not only is this game really funny and good, but the Kermit the frog intro plus the fact that Karen had a lighter below a cross is hilarious. Those two parts had me dying

Love the idea but with a “mother lost to religion” theme I wish the last thing she was told to do is kill Satan. Then in the last second of the game it is revealed to be her son (who she perceived as Satan)

There's a commandment in Deuteronomy where the Ancient Jews are *not* supposed to say the names of other Gods, so, did they have a neutral word that described an "Alien God," if they needed to talk about that, and say "We got trouble over there, (so and so person) is worshipping a strange god."

You know, the horror of this game is that it's a real thing. Growing up in a Christian/Catholic home, I lived through this. Getting my things burned, keeping me from watching certain shows, etc. Everything was from "the Devil" or "Satanic."
Watching this gave some PTSD. It's no joke. FUCK people like this.
I grew up in a house of my Baptist Christian parents, but thank God they don't belong to the "ENTERTAINMENT MADE BY SATAN!" group even though the only thing they forbid me from doing long time ago is listening to rock/heavy metal music but looks like they no longer care after I turned 18 (even my mom gave me couple of Metallica T-shirts).
Deeply sorry to hear about your past. Remember that it is the crazy hypocrite side that views any non-Bible related as "satanic", and only the sane Christians see media as designed for just entertainment.

The golden ending would've been Kermit teaching Karen to be a better person and employee.
Why do i have the feeling that hand is from doomguy? It would fit, since doomguy does hate demons.
...though, i would rather expect doomguy to invite some satanism as a demon trap, just so he can lure and kill the demons that come over.
Like, imagine a kinda mature cartoon styled show with a suited guy setting up a pest trap with a cage far high up, and a BFG gun inside, and on the ground sits some evil object, and doomguy is sitting and hiding somewhere in the distance behind an object with a really long wire and button in his hand, watching and waiting for a demon to come.
Imagine that's why he really collects those satanic objects in his house.

@@planescaped Since it's relevant, I'll relate that Job was a character who was incredibly wealthy (in his own societal context,) who had *almost **_everything_* taken from him in a single day. His thousands of animals, his 10 children, and whatever other wealth he had. He still had his wife and health, but then his health went painfully off.
That's quite a start to any story. It was all a test of Job's faith, to see if he was just worshiping because he was wealthy and healthy and with family. His wife said early on "Are you still faithful? Curse God, and die." He said "You speak like a foolish woman" and he refused to curse God.
When his health went downhill, he said nothing for about a week, while 3 of his friends sat there with him, also saying nothing. Then he started talking, lamenting. His friends then started speaking, saying "What sin have you committed?" in different ways over and over, in differing ways. Job didn't do anything wrong, though they thought he had. Job was possibly getting salt in open wounds by them accusing him of this (and there were many sores on his body.)
I'm not the most clear on all of the details, but it seems Job did do something off-kilter, though it wasn't sinful?
At the end of the book, though, he ended up being healed, and he ended up being even more wealthy than he was before, dying as a super old man.
The book goes for about 40 or 45 Biblical Chapters. I've gone through it at least twice, but mind you, I don't suppose I'm an expert on the whole book.
The Demon in the Thumbnail kind of reminds me of Wendigomon from one of the Digimon movies

I don't want to leave any spoilers, but when you finish the game and see the role not-kermit does, it really makes ironic sense that he's a frog.

Maybe you've played it already, but I'd like to recommend an already-made point-and-click adventure game: DROPSY. I was pleasantly surprised to discover Christianity portrayed legitimately, and as a positive force. The protagonist is bizarre-looking but good-hearted clown. It was a game where instead of thinking, "How do I defeat this guy?" I walked around going, "How can I help this guy?" which feels like a novel mental twist in video games!
I agree with you, it'd be nice to see more games that have a positive portrayal of Christianity. KATHY RAIN started out with a positive nod towards religion, at the funeral at the beginning, but then the plot kinda got sidetracked into this cult thing.
I know its been 2 years but I might as well bring it up here. Faith is a great game that uses themes of Christianity in a way that isn’t disrespectful or offensive, it’s actually quite well made. I don’t want to mention much more than what I have as to not spoil anything, it’s a good game, well worth the price of admission
