I would really like to give this man a big bear hug, then sit down with him on my porch and talk about the weather and other things that dont matter too much
Mark Garrison, I don't know if you read comments? I served with the 282nd Assault Helicopter Company Black Cats & Alley Cats 3rd Platoon. I was a Crew Chief on UH-1 Charlie Models Hueyes. from December 1970-1971 @ Marble Mountain Airfield. I returned in December 1998 in My Heart I wanted to Correct all the Wrongs that were done. I've been doing PTSD therapy since.
Mark. I spent two tours over there and I agree so much in what you are saying. I don't hunt anymore etc. I agree. I pray to God that there is never a nuclear war or anything that would destroy humanity. It's really depressing. I read your book. Excellent. Take care. I wish you the best.
Read your book. Enjoyed the story. Have ridden in a Huey while in the First Cav.. But never in combat. Thank you for your service. I served during the Vietnam war. Rarely was I treated well by civilians.
I agree with all that you say here....... and share your horror about the death of any creature and your respect for all life. May you enjoy a long, happy, and healthy life.
Life is so short to begin with, without man trying to make it even shorter. The people responsible for declaring war are not the ones fighting it. You would think that we would have figured this out many years ago.
I understand, people look down on me for it but I dont like to kill anything either. Its self destruction. I caught some minnows in a trap, and when it was time to put them on the hook, I couldnt do it. I let the minnow go. Ive killed allot of fish in the past, but I know its unpure.
Mad respect for this man and any vet. I wish his comments about comparing money spent on a War and NASA were more than wishful thinking because sadly War is a business and makes/employs way more than NASA ever could. Maybe in the future we can change that.
No doubt, your attitude about life changes when faced with death or faced with killing. Its a shame that the status quo will always be without an experience
These are very important lessens in history. It is too bad that the interviewer didn’t use a microphone for his interview. I am two years younger than doctor Garrison and was ineligible for service due to having lost an eye in 1967. Thank you dr. Garrison for your remembrances. I will buy your book.
@@ronrush11 I remember now and i agree with him, especially since we've invaded every country in the Middle East that had NOTHING to do with 9/11,how about a few bombs for the Saudi's.
Plz don’t go into politics sir.....your a warrior, not a politician thank God. Thank you for killing the enemy so others (Americans) can live. Other people in the world have it worse than us cause of their government!
Who is that "enemy", that has to be killed so that "Americans" can live? Frankly, you sound completely insane. By the way, yours is the exact same line of arguments the Nazis were using to justify their crimes against humanity.

Give peace a chance
