People like you (and Bobby Duke Arts) make me wish I could take up woodcarving so bad! It’s not feasible at the moment due to lack of a workspace but whenever I have my own place in the future, I’ll definitely be looking back on vids like yours for inspiration. Gorgeous work ♥️
I said the same thing. Almost exactly… I went to a hobby store and purchased an extremely cheap micro carving set ($12 to $14) and tried a small relief carving of a flower.. I could sit at my dining room table with a newspaper laid down to help contain the mess. A rubber band around all the tools made them take up less space than a handful. I’ve since gotten much better tools and have gone on to bigger projects. Don’t let space deter you. The guy from the “stinnet sticks” channel sits in a chair outside and does most of his carvings. (Forgive me for plugging another UA-cam channel here, that’s not my intention, simply referring to minimal space can be ok). Ahh, and by the way , you’ll find that you don’t have to go out and buy super expensive sharpening equipment either. To get started, an old leather belt with a little compound is more than sufficient to strip your tools back to a razors edge. You can do this Absolutely.
You truly have an artists eye. Your sketches in some of your other videos are mind blowing. I too do wood carving and my scetches look like a kindergarten art project beside one of yours. I look forward to future content.
Very beautiful ⭐️
You should try woods like cottonwood, blackwood, ebony, and rosewood... the have beautiful colour ranges.
