    Hi I am new to your channel I have been a NCMA for 25 years. I love my job but as I am starting a remote job as a NCMA. I am from Chicago Illinois, I have also lived in Indiana and Kansas. Kansas is a no limit state which means they can grab anyone with no schooling background and hands on training. We all get paid the same. In Illinois you don’t have a certificate but get paid less. Indiana is the same. I love what I do but being a military wife I loose my patients but if I stay remote I can always be with them as long as I have high internet speed 😊

      Hi, thank you for sharing this. I had no idea Kansas was a no limit state. If this is the case, I would suggest that people at least take my MA refresher course to get some type of education before going to work in an office.

    Last year , I took a leap of faith to become a medical assistant . In the beginning I wanted to quit because there was so much information and I wasn't catching on. I stuck with it an graduated. I'm still super nervous though, I don't want to kill my patient because of my mistake. I don't know what I will run into. I wish I would've researched everything in the beginning

    Hi Ms. K. If you or anyone has an advice for me it’s all appreciated!!! I started jan8th this year with Herzing Uni and we do have hands on classes, but the reading material and assignments are online. For me it’s working and I graduate December 8th. My first MA Exam is free, if I fail I have to pay for the second one. I bring this up because that’s my biggest concern. I have a hard time retaining a lot of reading material at once or taking in every little thing. I got good grades, but to me, knowing the info without having a set of answer to select from means more to me. I can do that but only with simple information. Like oh yeah derma means skin. It’s very basic things that anyone can remember. I love anatomy and physiology and I think I did the best in that but it’s soooo much to remember. When the time comes for the exam in December this year, I’m so afraid that even if I study, I won’t know enough. That’s literally what’s plaguing my mind everyday. I can do assignments all day and get good scores, but just retaining, studying it’s so hard I think. Anyone have any advice? Tips?

    Ms. K can you answer me this why is there more cons than Pros about people becoming any type of medical field I can't understand why go through all this schooling to be disgusted with it I don't understand and then to make a video about and for someone like me that went back to school to get her high school diploma and now about to start taking my class as a MA i have seen so many videos of why not to be a MA I am a 54-year-old mom of seven that had to work 3 jobs 2weekly and one on the weekend teaching young ladies to praise dance so my life has always wanted to be in the medical field my baby sister is a Doctor now and I am sooooo proud of her and my daughter is a CCMA and all the other kids are doing very well I might say so I really want to make my one dream come true helping people I helped raised all 154+ neices and nephews and all my brothers and sisters so now I am ready to live out my dream I thank you for the beautiful video I am focused and willing to work my but off and thank you for saying i am not to old i will be looking for your book God Bless

      This is a good question and loaded so I may do a video answering it... but in short, go for it! The medical field is wonderful and I love what I do. We need more people who truly love it so if people are leaving, great because we need more genuine people and less people who don't really love what they do.

    Hi, Ms. K! I’m glad you’re posting videos again! I loved watching your CCMA study guide videos last year. They helped me study and prepare to get certified last year when I took my CCMA certification exam in April 2023! I recommend to anyone if they can try to get your employer to pay for your MA school. That’s what I did. My employer paid for me to go to MA school. It was all online (which is great because I have to work. I can’t leave work to go to school full-time right now) and I was also able to do my externship (not required) at my job which is a huge plus! Good luck to all who want to pursue a career as a MA! It’s not for everyone, but if you love to help people and have a passion for healthcare, you will thoroughly enjoy it like I do!

    Hello, MS.K. I'm a high school student with aspirations of becoming an MA. Online programs appear, and when I read the evaluations, I see that a lot of individuals pass the medical assistant exam, become certified, and get a job, which is why I want to apply the same so I have more time to work a part-time job while studying. They are entirely online and do not offer in-person clinical classes. However, they do offer a virtual, lifelike video clinical for instruction; I'm not sure if they will offer KIT or not. Miss, would you still suggest an entirely online course? Thank you😊

    • @MedicalAssistingwithMsK
      @MedicalAssistingwithMsK  7 місяців тому +2

      Hey, good question. Although I do not like or recommend online programs for medical assistants, I do know that people are having success with them. So it’s up to you. But just make sure you know what kind of resources they will offer to you. Are they going to pay for your certification as well as the study material? Are they going to send you an at-home kit? Do they provide an externship for you? These are the types of questions you want to ask. You have to get that hands-on training somehow.
