Great video of the Lakewood R12/DSK 12" Oscillating Table/Desk Fan the Jordan! I really like the blades although they need to be the oiled to get the bearings to not become the stiff anymore.
friend, a question i live in brazil and if i went to the united states which 16 inch oscillating table fan would you recommend (with the same efficiency as the arno fan)
I believe there were rebranded Windmeres but it has a Guan Shing tag. Out of all the companies to rebranded fans under I think Guan Shing is a good choice.
I am surprised that it is as old as it is... It looks like something that could be bought today! I have never had a lakewood table fan, but I would love to get one of the older ones, but I have several lakewood box fans and they are all great. I can't quite say i aspire to get one of those models though even though it does seem to have a quite unique design.
@@andrewg593 yeah, I am not too big of the fan of the idea of the fully plastic design the old lakewood table fans have! that old plastic seems like it would get brittle and break easily, which is why I have never ordered one and had it shipped as I am sure with the disregard that postal companies have toward caring for the packages, and the sellers likely would not pack it right, so I am sure that it would arrive broken. SO I really hope to at some point find a local one.
That does seem to be a very nice fan! It performs well and I like the pointed blades and the look of the base and motor housing. The backstory on these rebadged fans is that Lakewood stopped making their own 1200DX series (white with gray blade and plastic grilles/Samsung motor) fans in 1996 or 97 I think it was. So after that they just continued to make the bigger fans like the box and window fans themselves and the smaller ones were rebadged Chinese fans. This is the first of the desk fans that were rebadged, and I think there were some other versions over the years up until they closed in 2008.
@@JordanU I replied earlier, but it didn't show up. But no, I don't. That label does look familiar though and perhaps that would give an idea if someone recognizes it.
Hello, I have this fan. I like it, but the fan blades have turned brittle and pieces have fallen off. I would like to find replacement blades as the fan works well. Do you have a recommendation for a replacement blade?
My aunt used to have a Lakewood oscillator from the same era, the oscillator failed on it as well. That would certainly be a good indicator that these were made by the same OEM as Windmere's stuff.
Excellente video of the Rivermetal number Refrigeration-12 Desk! It seems to move about as much air as dichlorodifluoromethane spilled onto a dextop! Or something like that. The tag looks SMC to me so possibly Midea. Odd that the off button is colored aqua on what would otherwise be an entirely grayscale design. & I would never be able to grip that oscullationz knob. Maybe someone replaced that knob with a bead that just so happened to fit.
Good video bro on the Lakewood Oscillating table fan I like that high velocity sound to it even on high speed Lakewood is definitely one of my favorite brand of fans Hopefully you'll get the bearings oiled
I’m fairly certain it’s a Kuo Horng rebrand. My dad had one when he was alive and it looks exactly like a Windmere desk fan of that same size as far as the blade set goes.
Hey Jordan, Today we were planning on doing many so very wonderful things! We were going to borrow our neighbor Norman's ladder and we were going to clean all of the leaves off of the gutters! we were also going to go into the next neighborhood over and go for a nice long family and friend walk! We were going to park in the church parking lot! Sadly all of those plans have been canceled, at least for the time being because very so sadly it has started to rain! So instead of doing all of that we are all going to gather around the nice warm fire and watch national lampoons Christmas vacation! Christopher loves the part where cousin eddy dumps his sewage from the RV into the sewer! Stacy is a big fan of the part where the cat chews out an electrical cord and the Clark plugs it in and the cat is instantly vaporized! We don't believe that this is 100% the truth and what would happen in that the cat getting vaporized, but it is overly dramatic for a movie instead! We are not going to let a little bit of rain mess up our spirits and we are still going to have an absolutely very great and very so wonderful day!

Thanks, Aaron. I will get the bearings oiled soon, so that they no longer will be the stiff.
I like this kind of fan since they were made in the 90’s and very strong for good quality
Me the too the John. I do have a late 90s RR/12 fan.
The 90s definitely produced some of the last really good fans we saw.
Which fan would be the most similar to this if I can’t find another one like it?

I too was surprised at the age, the design made it look like something that could have been one of their last productions.
The blue Lakewood table fans are fantastic! They're fragile but man do they move air!

Never seen one of these, wonder how they compare to the original Lakewood 1200 and 1200a series
Ironically enough I just had a 1200A shipped in recently, so we can certainly do a comparison.
@@JordanU You're gonna find it to be very powerful if it's anything like my 1200. Same fan except the 1200A is brown instead of blue.

There are generic replacements available on Amazon.
Nice fan bro!
Thanks
I have found one of these with a broken oscillator, ended up scrapping the base and used the head assembly for a small stand fan

polarwind branded fan from Meijer
That doesn't make sense.
I've never really seen a lot of Lakewood oscillating fans. The only ones I seen most are those Hv-4 desk fans, the Hv floor fans, and the box fans.
I've seen more of their box fans around here than the oscillating fans.
My mom had one of them for many years it was a good fan my grandma still has the one she got years a go and I love it

The knob is easily grabbed, there's no reason anyone with working hands would have an issue using it.
I’ve been using this fan for the last almost 24 years I can’t go to sleep without this same fan but mines getting old so I need to find a new one 😭

Certainly not one I have seen before. Lakewood almost never put their name on generic fans. This appears to perform a lot better than the DX fans.
It definitely does.
I think your fan is a good choice.

quite an odd design. looks like the downfall of lakewood in a nutshell tbh
Yes and now, their quality didn't seem to really decline until a few years before they caved in the late 2000s.
