If you try to pass a water way with some water speed, most of the times you dont have a car prepared for such obstacle. Engine gets hydrolock (goodbye engine) or water gets to electronics, car starts to float, possibly sink or turn over and most likely the person tried to do such drive with all windows closes and this days windows are electric. Huge areas particularly west of the Shannon basin regularly flood. I have a Mitsubishi Shogun which was prepared for this sort of water. At first I didn't trust it but the people who prepared it took me an a drive through screen high water with no issues. I have it 11 years now and have had it screen high about 20 times. So I've fitted a waterproof camera with a night on the front with a monitor in the cab. These cameras are normally used by drivers. Hi all, I feel I need to type this here for some people who are commenting about wasting emergency services time and leaving foul insults etc. I am an experienced driver, a very experienced driver actually, my vehicle is altered and prepared in such a way that it can handle a situation like quite comfortably regardless of my nerves. As for wasting emergency services time?, don't make me laugh! I drive through one flood in 365 days and I'm a bad guy? How about the people who ride horses?, or go pot holing?, walk the three peaks or ride their fast bikes on the weekend? Nothing wrong with doing any of that but none of those activities are essential and they will all expect rescuing if something goes wrong! So back off, because if you ever get stranded in bad weather or flood water its volunteer rescue drivers in there own trucks that the emergency services call to help them!! - Mark Douglas
Considering you say that you are an experienced driver, it was a very foolish thing to do, even with a vehicle that has been modified to deep wade, you have no idea what the road was like, if it had been washed out or collapsed, the entire point of being experienced is that you do not take risks that you do not have to, and to be honest, if something would have gone wrong, you really would have been in trouble.

Mike Rivers cos he's a northerner.... Nowt but a bit a wata
Done something similar the other week by accident, the water was deeper than I thought. I had a bow-wave and the headlamps were underwater. Once I had got into the water the road dropped away more than I had thought, anyway about 50metres and a lot of oh’ shits later I got out of it unscathed. I’m now looking for a landrover badge for a 55plate vauxhall agila.🤣🤣
@@antonclark3420 well that’s true enough mate!!
That was scary, I wouldn’t even temp that in my shogun lol.
Check this out!! This is me in my Nissan Terrano 2, in Newton between Fairburn ings and Allerton bywater, I nearly pooped my pants at the end bit lol, it got very very deep at the end!

Man i get where you are coming from i really do ,but in this easily offended and negative world of u tube maybe a little disclaimer and explanation would have stopped the NEGATIVE people in their basements in there tracks ....
Keep on living a full life mate it is yours after all ....to live
They got balls that's for sure. Freaked me out just watching it
He must have car designed for that. lmao window wipers going when underwater.
It isn't lol. Snorkel and it seem about all it had giving the ammount of water that entered
Diesel with a snorkel will go near roof height, I hope you had elevated diff and gear box breathers otherwise you'll be cleaning a milky slop out, nice vid though
Gear box would be fine because its still getting warm but at this speed diff might get cold and suck in water.
@@hp2084 If it’s well kitted it would have axle breathers.
@@barrymorley796 by the looks of it its not his first rodeo he's done that many times avrg person would oh fcuk oh fcuk he's singing away tobthe tunes 😀
whatever you say the vehicle seems to be competent. don't know where it actually came from but at the end a white car passed him!
ever heard the bubble car song?
6:35 Loving the useful flood warning sign halfway thru the flood 🤣🤣 you had one job kevin.
I just wanna know what he's driving. That vehicle is perfect for an apocalyptic event!
Probably a Hilux or a Nissan.
I believe he said Nissan Terrano when he got out of the water near the end
Nissan Terrano that he’s modified. You can click the link in the description to Facebook and read his full post. 😊
Need these in China for their floods
Plot twist: This is a boat w/ a wiper and a hood 🤣 I mean how can he be so chill about this? ahahahahaha
MmmMmmMmmMm all the water really gets me going... especially it coming onto the window😋🤪👀
I can't believe he made it through that Flooded street at that depth for that distance! Even with an intake snorkel, All the electronics are submerged and still work? I would have soiled myself several times and freaked out. I'd love to know what vehicle that was! Holy Smokes !!
