  • Hi Friends- today's tour is a little longer, but I think you'll enjoy it. The first 8 1/2 minutes I begin to turn an old fire pit into a garden bed and then take you to the park bench that overlooks the valley and I chat about some things in our valley. Then we have a short garden up dates. Smokey, JJ and Cocoa and our cow Dolly make an appearance too. Hope you enjoy!
    *I apologize if you can't hear me very well. I was speaking into the camera while taking the video and my voice doesn't come out as clear, especially with the music. Voiceovers are probably better with my soft voice- please ask if you have questions or put the Closed Captions on (cc)*
    If you enjoy my videos I would love for you to subscribe, hit the Like button and tell me what you think in the comments.
    ** I appreciate everyone of you who stops by my channel to watch!

    The natural look with the rocks really will make this garden bed pop out when the plants take hold. It's great fertile soil especially with the char 🙂Thanks for sharing your garden tour.

      Hi. Yes the sky is amazing when it's clear. On a cold winter night with snow on the ground and clear skies the sky is full of stars. Too bad my camera won't pick it up. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.😊

      Thanks! I moved it already. I hadn’t actually planted it in the planter. Just set the pot in it. We had a rosebush to plant and so we went out and bought another of the same rosebush so there will be one in each planter. I think maybe will be planting the lilac with the other two trees. Decisions decisions.🤔

      Thank Macia! I might have to plant something else in there because I'm not sure the seeds are going to sprout. I'm thinking about transplanting some snapdragons along the edge of the fire pit planter. Have a great week and thanks so much for watching!💖

    What a cute idea! I wish I had more rocks in the yard. I think something like that would look nice in our yard. Beautiful cat, rolling in the dirt, reminds me of something that kitten would do 😉 The vegetable plants look great too, loved the bell pepper, looking so healthy.🥰

      Good Morning Lynn. We have rocks everywhere! Wish I could send you some They come in handy to detract the cats from using the flower beds. How did your garden do while you were gone? Enjoy your Sunday. 😊😍

    I hope some wildflowers grow. I planted a packet I got from Mom a few years back and they're growing. It's on the west side next to the house and gets real hot there. I hope they love it, thrive and reseed themselves!! I love that you put the lilac near your door. We have a volunteer lilac by our back door, it's only given us blossoms a couple of times and now it needs to be cut back. Farmer Jim 😉 will take care of that!

      @BarbyDailey-Rurallife40  3 місяці тому

      We bought another rose bush today so we will plant the roses in the wood boxes. The lilac will have to go somewhere else.- it was still in the container in the box.

    Hi Barby. 😊💕
    Pretty Lupines.They may cross pollinate?Smokey looks comfy & taking in the beautiful view on the bench. LOL A butterfly garden will be lovely. I hope the
    Seeds take & grow. It sounds like a lot of nice flowers.I just Googled what plants would grow well in ash. It says many plants can grow well in soil with wood ash which is valuable soil amendment that can increase soil PH & provide nutrients for plants.Who knew? LOL They listed citrus trees, roses, & lavender, pink Hydrangeas, lilacs, and peonies. Anything apparently likes more alkaline soil.I think I would add in a little soil with it though. Interesting. Hope you are having a nice Saturday 😊💕🩷

    • @BarbyDailey-Rurallife40
      @BarbyDailey-Rurallife40  3 місяці тому

      Hi Donna! The Lupines might cross pollinate- I really don't know- guess I'd have to google that. 😊 If the seeds don't sprout I might buy a lavender plant and put it there. I have not had luck with lavender and I think it's because of the soil, so that will be plan B. I took some of the ash dirt off the top and put it in my rose bed and peony . Yes I think I could add more garden soil in this flower bed-but I was afraid it would entice my cats. 🙀 I think they did use it once since I planted but I've been trying to keep it damp to sprout the seeds. Thanks for the great comments. Hope you're enjoying your Saturday too. 💖
