Bmw e39 5 series "secret" menu

Keep in mind, I do not know if this works with anything other than the high instrument cluster. The high instrument cluster includes the alphanumeric characters that mine has. I am also not the founder of this, just relaying some helpful information I found out to others

So yours vin did not day 18 and you say you need to put in 18?!

Great. But I also have a language change issue. Plus my electrics are being lazy.

So how do you change the language to english. Mine is in german.

Unfortunately I do not have this car anymore so I am not 100% certain, but from what I have seen, you should be able to press the button on the right side of the gauge cluster and hold it and it should pop up with another language. If it does, you continue that process until you reach English. I know this was the process on the e34, I do not know if this was the same on the e39 though. I hope that works out for you!

@@gavinbailey11 thanks. But it keeps jumping to that Test NR 01. It's alright I'm still looking. Wanna try doing it with OBD coding if it will work or maybe inpa.

@@questions703 Ah. I see. Hopefully you can get it figured out! Sorry I couldn't really help, I never really had to mess with changing the language myself so I never really looked into it. No clue if they got rid of that feature from the e34 or not.

@@leander4166 I haven't, sorry. It's turned to a project car and has been in my garage for around 8 months now.
