I’m from Essex, English born and bred , ive been to Burns night supper haggis , but the best and favourite is haggis supper from Scottish chippys
Its so good, that's all I order.
Have to say that is rancid. Deep fried anything is not nice.
OK only exception is the chip shop in Anstruther fife which continually has a line aroumd the corner in all weather

I eat haggis every week. Absolutely love the stuff .Stable Scottish delicacy...Stuffed inside chicken breasts . "Balmoral ", Every Scottish wedding dish . 🏴 .

Haggis neeps and tatties are superb, even as a Scot I still love this dish. It’s not just for tourists, we all love it. A nice sauce can also elivate it 👍

I love haggis, neeps, and tatties as I consider it one of the national food dishes of Scotland. What you enjoyed there was sheer perfection. I laughed out loud at your reaction to the gentleman referring to the raisin square as a fly cemetery. My late father loved them and always got a good laugh by referring to it by that name. Every region of the UK has it’s own “peasant” food. Made with parts of the animal that the rich didn’t want. Haggis is delicious.
Animals are an investment both time and resources in 5he old times all parts were used respect

Haggis on a baked potato. Haggis and bacon on a roll. Haggis in chilli or spaghetti bolognaise it works all over the place.

Haggis n red Leicester toastie is worth making ...id recommend!
Whisky cream is alright for a sauce. Brown sauce works well with it as well. Some like gravy but its not my thing. Whisky cream if I'm being posh, brown/h sauce if I'm day today.
Scottish shepherds pie really. 3 dollops is ok too. stacking is fancy dan unless you're in a restaurant

Always have sliced haggis with a full fry up. Haggis from the chippy with batter and sweet chilli sauce inside
I first tried straight-up Haggis on a Scotland trip in a cafe in Lockerbie. Then I got to try this full dish at Edinburgh Castle. I eventually had it four more times, in Glasgow and Tobermory. Alas, as a Canadian, we just can't get haggis here EXCEPT near Robbie Burns Day.
My m8 in Liverpool wont let me through the front door without Stornoway black pudding, square sausage & mother's pride loaf. Im fae Glasgow so the pudding needs ordered in fae the butcher! (Good job I ❤ him 🙈)

Haggis is not only for the tourists. We eat it all the time it’s a great meal especially nowadays because of the whisky sauce.

I'm in Scotland and we honestly don't eat that much haggis despite it being called the national dish. So far this year I've eaten far more Italian, Indian and Chinese food than I have haggis. I might buy haggis 2 or 3 times a year, and my rare takeaways might include a haggis supper alongside the far more popular fish & chips.
Haggis is slept on. If u like black pudding you’ll love haggis. It’s black pudding on steroids. Try it. U won’t be disappointed

You're a good lad, I'd always welcome you here in Edinburgh. Honest enough to admit haggis is actually great.
As a Scot, and therefore a bit biased, I have always loved haggis. Could never understand how people could not like it, perhaps the ingredients put them off, but anyone who tastes it can surely not find it anything other than delicious. A you pointed out in your video, plenty of texture from the oats, protein from the offal, and the zing from the spices, complimented by tatties and neeps - the complete dish.

The name fly cemetery seems to be drifting out of common use, some of the younger assistants in a bakers will just respond with a blank expression if you ask for one.
Haggis, neeps & tatties is comfort food. Stovies are another worth trying.

Typical Edinburgh they take a dish of basic ingredients and hit you with a £10 price tag,do yourself a favour and go to a chippy and get a haggis supper for half the price which will taste just as good,thats the REAL taste of Scotland.

I'm Scottish & can't understand that Guy. He sounds like fast forward x2. Haggis is best in Chicken Balmoral. Chicken Breast stuffed with Haggis & covered in Peppercorn Sauce with Roast potatoes.

Not entirely sure, but often as not, if you hear a very strange, strangled accent, with odd vowels, and odder words...

one could argue that a sauce on a haggis is for tourists, also the fly cemetry or as we would say flea is kind of wrong as a real one should be made with currants hence the name as it kind of looks like dead flies. oh and irn bru in cans is crap u want to drink it from a glass bottle and only the vintage 1901 version.

We up in the northeast call them tetties. tatties came from the Scottish accent
If you cream the neeps and pit enough butter and milk in the creamed tattie you wont need a sauce.
If you get a chance try the indo-scot fusion food, haggis pakora.

Not once in my 50+ years have i seen haggis served like that nor covered in a sauce. A wee dram with it yes.

Hilarious hearing you say haggis, neeps and tatties 😂 serve me it like that, and you could possibly wearing it. You can't rate a dish after only tasting one. Had and made lots of haggis, all different. Some are so much better than others.
