I was eagerly awaiting this one so I could relieve the wind river high route, easily my favorite hike I've ever done
That area of the WInds is the site of my very first backpacking trip 50 years ago. Due to work, family, other trips, etc, I haven't been back but now I have plans to repeat that hike this summer - starting from Pinedale, my fourth night should be at Peak Lake and I will keep an eye out for your sunglasses! Fantastic area.

Darwin you just reconfirmed my ages-old decision to always keep a retaining cord on my sunglasses at all times. Somehow I manage to keep a pair of sunnies for up to two years (or more) and I typically only replace them when they're scratched to hell or I find some way to sit on them. But never lost a single pair since I started using the cord! 10/10 recommended.

Hiked a bit of Green River Lakes and then did the Cirque a couple years ago and it blew me away. It was my first real backpacking trip, which is such a blessing coming from the Midwest. The Winds are truly special, thank you for capturing that.
This was magical! Some setbacks on trail, but beautiful 😊 You know, I came to your channel for gear videos many years ago... but I stayed for the other stuff. Right know I mostly enjoy your podcast the most (listen to it on audible) and looking forward to what the Outdoor Evolution channel will produce!

What a great time in our nations history to be doing this.
I grew up in Wyoming with my summers in Shoshone National Forrest, and split my time between Lander and Rawlins in the Basin. Really enjoying seeing these amazing places through another’s eyes.
Darwin, when did do the winds, my wife and I were hiking the cirque of the towers the third week of August 2021. We got hit with snow and smoke.

Hey Darwin! Happy belated birthday! Bummer about your sunglasses, I did the same thing as a teen jumping into a swimming hole in Yosemite. I got lucky and found them after an hour of looking, but I for sure was freaking out for a bit!

When you finally do the GDT, it will be a tough 'awesome' call between the Wind's and GDT's Rockwall segment. They have the same 'feel'. I have immensely enjoyed this episode. GK
Totally enjoyed this episode for the familiar scenery. Had a chance to spend 10 days in the GRLs area in early August '21 and your trek was the talk of all the other thru-hikers. Weather and smoke about the same, or so it looks.

Knapsack Col is pretty epic. I grew up playing in the Tetons, but the Wind Rivers are pretty hard to beat. Your mileage through the winds is intense. Awesome video.
