I know you just did this but after seeing what SonicFox does with barraka you wanna do a video on how you would counter that? He uses cyrax every time he hits an unsafe combo.
unfortunately kameos change the game entirely, I would check it the string being used has a gap and shut it down early (before the cyrax kameo) alternatively use an ambush kameo yourself
They make baraka not a push over for the first time in mk history and now he's the least fun character to fight... I used to respect baraka mains now I hate them lol
Just ran into a Baraka that ran away spammed his projectile then spammed Sareena projectiles then he would approach with his Ariel spinning beyblade attack. That was pretty annoying! So many of Barakas moves seem mashy so idk what to do
Why doesn’t the game give you frame data when you up block??? It’s driving me crazy! Because as far as I can tell it’s different depending on what move you up block….
my understanding is up block just straight up removes you from blockstun so while your opp is still stuck doing their moves on block recovery, your char basically recovers instantly and is free to punish so yeah it does depend on the move you upblock, but the general rule is youre probably guaranteed your heaviest punish
I kinda just almost lost control when I faced a baraka+cyrax today. Like he’s just doin that combo all the time and then if he’s far he just spams the spike. It was just Ass 😂
Barakas overhead startup cannot be 28 frames... every one can react to subzero B3 overhead which is 24 frames . rains double overhead starts at also 28 frames and is easily reactable.... But barakas overhead overhead also starts at 28 frames but is difficult to react to every time... Is there a fear factor at play in it's effectiveness or is there a way to check if the frame data for that move is correct..
I can manually count the frames if you like keep in mind "startup" doesnt tell the whole story a move may have long startup, but if were talking REACTING to it, we need to see which frame it actually becomes RECOGNIZABLE you can have a 30f move be unrecognizable until frame 10 and itll be harder to react to than a 25f move thats recognizable on frame 2 hopefully that makes sense, but ill check rakas overhead
@@shenles or is it because barakas colors involved in the overhead are not as visible as rain and subzero whose overheads are using colors bluish white which is very visible so reacting is easier ....or it's that mid low string he does before the overhead that conditions you to hold low block longer to avoid getting hit by the second hit which hits low... So when the overhead does come you are already conditioned to hold down longer .. I don't know what it is but for some reason baraka's over head is just that hard to react to..
yeah unfortunately if theyre just outspacing thats the neutral game theres no hard simple rules for that if you suspect a backdash that means hes not mashing for his turn, so you can use a slower but further reaching move (or even forward dash first to chase him down)

If he does the special with the overhead you can armor through that gap before he sends out cyrax
I haven't used UPblock yet... but I mean it is day 2 on this game so we will get used to this

Everyone is playing Baraka and it’s lame. When I see him walk up on character select I know it’s a loss for me and a free win for him. How much fun….
