I’m blown away there’s only 5 comments on this video....I seen the movie but why was this never a huge story??? Why isn’t everyone talking about this still???
Samantha, I vaguely remember this story as it came out of Boston. I've watched Spotlight countless times and only now am I getting around to seeing videos of interviews and reading related articles. I understand your comment. I even feel the "righteous indignation" you have in pointing out how little the response is here. Spotlight directly relates to what I'm working on in legislation ... child psychological abuse reporting laws in the form of pathogenic parenting. Pathogenic parenting is also a "recognizable psychiatric phenomenon" and the cover-up is real and worldwide. The cover-up is BIG, so big that anyone can make big business out of it without even knowing it. You could be the abuser by thinking you are doing your own children or someone else's children a service by keeping their other parent away from them even though they are a good normal-range parent. You have to be shown what to look for. You have to know it is unacceptable to keep a child away from their parents unless it is extreme physical or sexual abuse. The Boston Globe nailed it and made child sexual abuse within religion very real so that victim-survivors could come out of the woodwork all over the world. This is a big deal to me and I have a very hard time dealing with the wait. I recognize there is a learning curve, so hopefully, by patiently waiting, there will someday be a law that defines child psychological abuse, and citizens can act on it whether it comes out of my work or someone else's. Thank you for posting. I probably wouldn't have except for your post asking me why not.
So awesome to see this!!! Great/well-done movie, and so good to see the real life team here talking about it again. Such a terrific example of how important this type of work is (and how much effort it takes!!)
The host appears overly eager to get his hands on those 'internal documents'. I sense after this interview he drove over to Office Depot and bought a box of White Off'
