Jon feeders are 3% and branch CKTs are 2%. I always VE as per this percentage. the reason being is the feeders usually travel long distances with bigger load at the end however branch circuits shorter distances are usually smaller load like receptacles lights etc.
Ah that makes sense….i do wonder tho, doesn’t the feeder to the panel have the advantage of always being calculated at 3 phase, thus typically not as much of an issue as the single phase branch circuits? If you hold the branch circuits to 2%, you’re very limited in distance for single phase runs.
Do you have anything on substation or transmission design families for medium to high voltage? I recently switched from commercial electrical design to substation and transmission and I'd really love to get my company to switch from CAD to Revit. Havn't found much in dealing with revit in my online searches for high voltage design. If you know of any resources, let me know!
Hey Jon, good to see you back!
Thanks for always bringing up some of the extraordinary topics like this❤
It feels wonderful to be back on screen! I'm glad I have viewers like you that appreciate these nuanced topics!
