Your dwarf, Putin has managed to pull the curtain down again closing Russia off from the outside world. Limited access to entertainment, music, sports including competing in the Olympics. Life here goes on with college and NFL Football and all the things that make life interesting. You get drone strikes, a collapsing economy with the slow poison of western sanctions. It's been a lifelong dream of mine to see St. Basil's, attend the Bolshoi, visit the GUM department store, eat tasty Russian dishes, go to a banya, enjoy the winter weather, but most of all, enjoy the people. Sam that was great that you was on Russian National television with your friends. My favorite Russian singers are Irina Allegrova and Ancy and many many more, I don't speak or understand Russian but i feel there songs when they sing from there hearts and souls.

Loved it Sam! Everything you said about how and why you fell in love with Russia is exactly what affected me also. Every house I visited, even if the hosts were elderly and didn’t have much, I huge spread was prepared for me and the warmest of welcomes. Like you I found myself there. Can’t wait to getback!

The russian banya is very similar to our finnish sauna, and both countries seem to hold this bathing culture very dear.

Before the war most of Finland's population were saying we should not join, but fear mongering made many change their minds about it. Since the war started there has also been some very disgusting behavior from finns towards russians who live in Finland.
