Learning Italian these past 3 years has been amazing. I’ve met wonderful Italians, have had conversations in a language I never thought I could learn, And one day soon will be able to use it In the country I can’t wait to visit. Thank you for the Push with all your videos. 🙏🏽

Learning Italian will make your visit much more enjoyable. Learning the language brings with it learning more about the people, culture and history of that great country. I hope you get to take that trip sooner than later!

I am Italian, just like you Luca. I speak Spanish, English, and some French. Spanish gave me one of (if not, THE) most amazing years of my life, I was 16 years old, living my best life in Argentina, the country that first made me spread my wings towards the unknown. Spanish allowed me to meet so many incredible people, that I will always call family, and opened me the doors to a wonderful country called Argentina, a country that I consider as important and dear to me as my own home country, Italy. English made me part of what we call "global community". I would not be able to imagine my life, as it is now, without English being a fundamental part of it. I mostly work in English, speak English in my day to day life. English is a passe-partout to the world and a truly beautiful language. English gave me the opportunity to spend a year of my life in Scotland, studying at a pretty cool university. French... oh, French. Never really loved you that much, to be honest. But now life gave me the chance to embrace it a bit more, through new family members who only speak French. Trying to bond with them is making me challenge myself with the language, and liking it a bit more. Curious to see where French might lead me. And then you have Korean. The language that has been giving my life a new sense for the past 2 and a half years. Korean challenged, and still challenges, every brain cell I possess, it made me almost lose my mind on quite a few occasions. But it's the language that has, by far, taught me the most. It taught me to be kinder to myself, and to give myself all the time that I need. Sometimes I do think back, about those first few months, when even pronouncing a few words out loud would make me feel utterly stupid. Realising that I can now hold entire conversations, write quite comfortably, understand way more than before, almost feels unreal. Korean gave me the change to live, for 7 months, in a country like Korea, so different, in culture, language, history. It's been probably the most challenging period of my 26 years of life, but also the most intense and insanely beautiful one. And the more I grow up, the more my curiosity never ceases to increase in intensity.
Thank you Luca for this video, and for everything you do. Language learning is truly one of the biggest gifts. ✨

Hey Luca, it's been more than 10 years ago since I met you in Moscow, but I still continue telling stories about you to my friends. You raised the bar very high for me. Btw, I'm currently living in Armenia and learning Armenian. The days when it seems to difficult and I want to quit, I just remember how playfully your were switching from Russian, to English, Spanish, Italian, German, etc... And I go on! I'm so grateful that I met you because you set a real unbeatable example for me in terms of language learning.

I've been working since when I was 16 years old so my routine day is more or less the same everyday, and I'm a little bit shy, so learning a language makes me feel free, and it's as my brain travels in another world. And I'm really happy to talk with people from all over the world. Languages is like a bridge that joins two or more different cultures.

I learn langs, because I always wanted to learn them as a little child. But so many myths regarding language learning stopped me until I one day saw that there are people who have learned langs alone by themselves. And that is all what I needed. And right now, I speak 5 langs, and hopefully by end of this new year, I will be able to speak 7 langs.

Unfortunately that particular regional-branch is difficult to learn due to miles I live apart from the countryside it is actually spoken.

That’s why you don’t learn it, cause language is subconscious, it’s not conscious. don’t try to memorize it, forget the grammar and just dive through a immersion.

Don't do much grammar, unless you're learning a slavic language and even then...limit it to 10min a day. I hate Anki and yet it helped me understand more ('cause I'm using audio only flashcards). Words fly by and I don't remember them.. yet I'm able to understand better those I've encounter many times. Repetition's key!!

The languages really find you, I became a polyglot through unusual circumstances. It actually happened by casually smoking marijuana. I smoked it one night and all the sudden I got the uncontrollable impulse to find audios and absorb my subconscious with languages, I developed ESP from it, I like to sit In the dark for hours and just listen to the intonations of sounds and I just play a game and match with my voice, but language learning is a calling of one’s soul. When it calls one’s soul it transcends artificial “motivation”. Motivation is force, when you hear people talk about motivation for languages they are using force and they care too much. In books you read like the daily Stoic they teach non-attachment. When you live a polyglot life (without attachment) the languages will come to you without any effort on your part. It will be natural and never be forced. My philosophy with a language life is let your emotions guide you, let them guide you by MOOD you feel like doing. It’s not about motivation it’s about “being in the mood”. Sometimes you’re in the mood for Polish, other times Russian, other times French, other times German. If you’re not “in the mood” for it it doesn’t mean you never go back to it. Just like food, you have a favorite food, just because you have a favorite food doesn’t mean you want to eat it all the time. It’s all just a game. I love languages because I see life as the matrix. Our whole experience is just a digital code. Our whole identity is part of this digital code (weight, age, all “stats” people keep) you can’t have this “digital code” without languages, that’s why it’s tied to our souls!❤ happy learning Luca❤

I agree with you. If you learn languages as an hobby you don't have to "force" yourself, you just fall in love with the language.

Exactly right! It’s all a game in your inner mind. I also love to add musical components to languages. Music isn’t music without a high and low tone. It’s so fun to blend languages together like music. like Russian has a high tone, polish has a low, or Arabic has a guttural tone while Turkish has a softer tone. My favorite thing about languages is being like a DJ with them and Having fun mixing endless combinations together!

    2024
Devo assolutamente tornare in polacco!

too cheezy! it's simply an addiction, I suffer from it too! you are just trying to convince yourself that it's cool. What you said here is true only for the first two or three languages, the rest is like a video game where you try aimlessly to unlock new achievements!
