@@DyreElsker78 no it can’t , mother dogs do that as well , they have loose skin there . A quick pick up by the scruff is just fine , as long as you’re not carrying your dog around like that. Besides wouldn’t the dog yelp if he was in pain 🤗
@@Ambelica yes, the mother doing this with a much smaller dog. That`s have a much lighter weight in her mouth, later on, this will be to heavy and the skin is also sensitive there. A dog that is getting a treatment like that often, have maybe quit showing any vocal signs that it`s hurting - for why bother ? They are doing that anyway. Maybe after some "shut up!" too ? It is at least uncomfortable for them. This could potentially cause damage to his cervical spine, so yes. It can.

When my cat had to have surgery at 3 years-old due to a bladder rupture, he became really irritated and aggressive with the vets once he was feeling better. Vet called me to come up there to get him earlier than expected because they couldn't get near the cage door without him swatting and hissing at them. Went up there and he launched himself at me soon as the door was opened. Purring and crying, which made me cry. He turned 10 last month.
OMG Claire's story about her dogs getting swept out to sea and drowning!!!! That's one way to make me burst into tears! I cannot imagine how horrible that must have been for her.
As a dog trainer, I teach all the dogs I work with the basic commands plus: 1. DROP IT! Thats right, my dogs spit anything in their mouths out on command. That includes their favorite bully sticks and chews so that I can inspect them mid-chew. It is important that they understand that I give and I reward. 2. In addition, I never ever throw food on the floor for my dogs to eat. They are taught from the beginning to NOT put opportunistic food or objects in their mouth. Always feed them on a plate or bowl. And if they scarf something, refer to #1 above and command DROP IT!!! 3. I am the best finger sweeper and have retrieved countless objects from rescue dogs. If they dont drop it, my fingers go in their mouth and retrieve it. I dont recommend anyone do this without learning proper technique, so ask @Bondi Vet to demonstrate in a video.
It also depends on the dog. 1 of mine knows I go in her mouth to remove things, so she will drop it....UNLESS she's loose outside. My other I can sometimes "trade" with food like a cookie, but I have 2 huskies, they are incredibly stubborn. One of mine ate some plastic, I spent the next 5 days checking poop until it came out lol
@@Loviekinz training cures. ♥ Also, they are showing you that they rule, not you. Huskies are awesome dogs. I love teaching them to speak in human language. Your dogs have you well trained to chase and trade. It doesnt depend on the dog. It depends on the owner and training.
@@Loviekinz yeah huskys can be extremely stubborn and sometimes you have to make up your own methods until you find a way that works it can be difficult to train stubborn dogs but you do have to keep trying and be very consistant with it
yeah my family has dachshunds, our eldest had three babies and we kept two (we wanted to only keep one but one had a disability so we kept two and my aunt has the third) and the three my family have are extremely close and are always playing and running around and cuddling, the dog my aunt has isn’t as happy, when he visits he lights up,he’s so excited to see his siblings and mom, but he sadly he doesn’t have any dachshund friends at my aunts house, me and my dad want to take him in, but my mom doesn’t want another dog, sticky situation, but all this aside, dachshunds need friends, especially other dachshunds, they also have very bad separation anxiety typically :/

I am extremely impressed that the spoon didn't cause Honey any form of distress!! My dog has eaten menstrual pads and has easily passed them through the other end! Dogs are absolutely incredible creatures.
i also have a dog that would eat pads, and slim jim’s whole and would pass them no problem. he would eat stuff in the packet and we wouldn’t know until we saw his poop.
@@leemandy2548 yes, but if thee calf got upset it easily could have killed him. If the dog accidentally hit the calf and it kicked him, he could have been killed or seriously hurt. Also the calves are bigger than the little guy, the could accidentally step on him, break his bones. He’s just so small, but so friendly

The vets (and everyone at the clinics!) are so wonderful! Our pets help us in so many ways. I'm grateful for my vet who saved my dog's life when he tried to eat a brown recluse spider. My Shiba, Faust, would have died if he hadn't spotted the bite at the back of his tongue 😳

Sometimes caretakers need a waking call. For me it was when my dog, as a puppy, swallowed whole cooked chicken wing. Then I knew we needed some serious training. But this? It’s funny, yeah, but also dangerous. This is a behavioral issue, not a medical problem. Why they didn’t meet with a trainer first?
My cat swallowed a sewing needle with thread on it. Took her to the emergency vet and they showed me an x-ray confirming she did it. An endoscopy later, it was out and I have never left a sewing needle alone again.
Makes me realise I need to be more careful. My neighbour's cat likes to hang out in my house and I do a lot of crafts so I have loads of different craft knife blades.
As far as Chip, the hairy cat, maybe try a specific cat food that helps with that. We gave our cat butter to help lubricate the G.I. so the fur ball will slip through!
I use a cat food that has Hairball control in it. It seems to work my cat no loonger seems to be distressed when trying to cough up furballs and for the last 6 months he never really coughs up the fur balls either because the cat food and nutrients are breaking the hairballs down in his stomach.
No , extra food get animals sick and overweighted just like what it's dose to humans ..... he is an old cat too so the best thing to do is reducing hair by cutting it or planning regular hair grooming

There are some kinds of dry food that help with hair balls and such too! My vet recommended it to me and it helped my cats a lot. I never tried butter though, perhaps one of these days I'll give it a try :)

The worst thing you can do with a double coated breed of dog or cat is clip them. They will end up with more undercoat which is what sheds the most. Use a Furminator to get all the loose undercoat out before the cat swallows it.
My cat sheds every bit as much as Chip. I wonder if I should trim her regularly as an ounce of prevention. Also, I am relieved that some other cats shed as much as her. I was worried about it being a medical thing

About the cat needing his hair shaved... I have three female cats I rescued that needed spayed. I had a vet that did shots and spaying for free but she had to clip their ears in order to get funded. Two of the three have such beautiful markings that I refused to loose any part of them. She agreed to spay all three for free without clipping the ears if I paid for the vaccinations. Obviously I said OK
My cat was spayed at the animal shelter I adopted her from. They spay and neuter all the animals they get. But they put a small tattoo above the spay incision instead of clipping the ears. The fur grows around it so you wouldn’t really know unless you part the fur looking for it, but if Heaven Forbid they get lost, when their stomach is shaved the vet would see the mark and know they have been spayed already. It’s just an easy way to avoid unnecessary surgery and painless because they do it while the animal is still under. And then keep their beautiful ears
That poor calf - chained up away from his/her mother, shaking on the ground...it's so interesting to me how people who consider themselves "animal lovers" don't think twice about how poorly treated and abused farmed animals are. Like, what's the difference? If you'd seen a kitten tied up and being used as an object - removed from mum even though it is clearly still dependent upon her for milk and love - you'd have a fit! But a calf is somehow different. People are so strange.

I was petsitting for a friend and on Christmas Day I found their hamster dead. I was 12 so I took it very rough. Not the best Christmas.

The worst thing you can do with a double coated breed of dog or cat is clip them. They will end up with more undercoat which is what sheds the most. Use a Furminator to get all the loose undercoat out before the cat swallows it.

My cat sheds every bit as much as Chip. I wonder if I should trim her regularly as an ounce of prevention. Also, I am relieved that some other cats shed as much as her. I was worried about it being a medical thing

Small children do the same. Animals naturally explore with their mouths. Humans do it too until we know better.

About the cat needing his hair shaved... I have three female cats I rescued that needed spayed. I had a vet that did shots and spaying for free but she had to clip their ears in order to get funded. Two of the three have such beautiful markings that I refused to loose any part of them. She agreed to spay all three for free without clipping the ears if I paid for the vaccinations. Obviously I said OK
My cat was spayed at the animal shelter I adopted her from. They spay and neuter all the animals they get. But they put a small tattoo above the spay incision instead of clipping the ears. The fur grows around it so you wouldn’t really know unless you part the fur looking for it, but if Heaven Forbid they get lost, when their stomach is shaved the vet would see the mark and know they have been spayed already. It’s just an easy way to avoid unnecessary surgery and painless because they do it while the animal is still under. And then keep their beautiful ears

That poor calf - chained up away from his/her mother, shaking on the ground...it's so interesting to me how people who consider themselves "animal lovers" don't think twice about how poorly treated and abused farmed animals are. Like, what's the difference? If you'd seen a kitten tied up and being used as an object - removed from mum even though it is clearly still dependent upon her for milk and love - you'd have a fit! But a calf is somehow different. People are so strange.

Another funny one.... normally you hear of kids getting asthma attacks due to cat hair and dander...so what does a cat do if that happens 🥰😂🐱. I love animals and these cats are beautiful and so majestic. I hope you can see the light humour in their predicaments and by no means wish anything bad happen to them nor mean to less of the worries they caused their owners. Even the owners laugh 😂.
