Sept 22 2022 I have watched about 8 videos on how to adjust the brakes. None of the videos really helped me out. Now this is the best video. So simple and so well explained. I bought a bike on line and it needed some assembly and when I put on the front wheel, I had that rubbing as it turned. I have never touched a bike in my life to work on it so I knew zero. I just knew that the rubbing cannot be normal. When I contacted customer support they told me to take it to a bike shop to get it fixed as there has to be some serious issues. They did not even tell me or know that once a wheel is put back on that the pads need adjusting. I just now have to locate the two screws for mine and then do the adjustment Thanks for a great video.
Thanks. I was getting ready to bring my bike to the shop to have this adjusted and watched the video. It took me all of 90 seconds to fix it and saved me time and money going to the shop.
Being a new bike is it natural to break in use of riding for first time as I hear some rubbing on disc brakes? I went and did adjustments before using but no matter how much adjustment I cant get it to be noiseless but now I thinking I need to just start riding bike to break in the new discs brakes, much like a car after changing at shop, you will hear a little rubbing but go away after first day..
I was able to fix my front brakes but not my rear still having the rubbing issue. I even tried to adjust the pads. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? Great videos though man!
other vid say brake piston is often stuck will not retract and needs to be pushed back to reset o rings on it where it will stop , but something can be broken if done wrong, or set with a special thickness block in between ,
What if I do this to align the calipers and it still rubs as if the brake is slightly depressed.. Do i need to have them bled..? I just had the pads replaced and now one constantly rubs restricting and doesn't rotate freely...
are they hydraulic disc brakes? I did something similar a while back. can't remember exactly step by step but fluid started coming out of the brakes. why did that happen?
+Manjurul Hussain Yes they are hydraulics. Normally this shouldnt happen. Most probably you have opened the bleeding valve or undone the brake cable. You should refil and bleed your brake fluid to ensure they will function properly.
Hello how to fix a clicking noise coming from the front caliper when pressing the brake lever ? (i can hear the noise only at the start of the pressure)
+Constantinos Neophytou I would start with checking the condition of the brake pads (whether they are worn out or dirty etc). Then i would look at the alignment of the caliper it self (ie if it sits parallel to the rotor and the brake pads contact correctly the rotor). I would also check the rotor for any cracks
Constantinos Neophytou If its brand new it will take a couple of rides to bed in. You can accelerate this process by gaining some speed and braking hard. You can check if its parallel by looking at it from the opening either at the top or at the back. the 2 pads and the rotor should be parallel to each other
Didn't work to me. I got a new bike and assembled it today(front wheel, handlebar, seat and pedals), but in my case there is no even space to adjust it, I feel like my pads are just clamped more than needed so both side of rotor basically scratch it. So the method from the video doesn't fix my issue unfortunately.
thanks for your comment. if the brakes are mechanical disc brakes (that use cables to actuate the brake pads, you can adjust the distance of brake pads by releasing more cable. This is usually done with a barrel adjustor (located on the brake levers or where the cable enters the brake caliper), which you have to turn to shorten or lengthen the cable length.
@@MTBvideosCYchannel I got hydraulics but the issue was fix already using the method provided on the video, I just had to practice more :) Thanks for the respond.
Thanks for the video. I fixed my squeaking brakes although I know nothing about bikes except they have many parts that have to work together in order to have enjoyable and safe ride...
When I do this with my rear brake there is still rubbing. I tighten the screws in very small increments but the caliper seems to shift even while gripping on the disk. so after i fully tighten it the caliper is favored to one side and rubs. Any advice?

Absolutely brilliant. Finally got my front wheel silent when rotating. Always wanted to learn this. Many thanks

I was buying bikes via online too. Tis will help me a lot. Thank you so much. Clear speaking accent as well. Easy to understand.
great vid this helped me a lot, I was struggling to get mine aligned and was going to give up and take it to the shop, this saved me a ton of cash!
I just bought a new bike and shortly after putting the front wheel back on it was out of alignment. Thanks for the video, will do this now.
Great advice. Solved my front rubbing disc brake straight away and saved me a visit to the bike mechanic
Excellent demonstration its cured my problem and I thought I was needing system bled..thanks
Thanks for such a great video. Solved my rubbing issue after I replaced tire. Great Job!!!
Thank you! This totally fixed my hydraulic disc brakes!!!!
Very good video....comprehensive and well presented....fixed my problems....thanks for the tutorial .
Excellent tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to do it.
Thank you, excellent video, 100% fixed my problem easily. One bit of advice might get a light or video lighter conditions.
This did it for me. Quick and easy. Thanks!!

thanks for the video. im gonna try to fix my locked on brakes in the morning. i also subscribed :)
Simply great video. Thankyou

Great video, i wish i saw this a little earlier. I accidently loosened the brakehose instead and let a bit of fluid out, now it can't brake :(
I hope your break is fixed by now
You will need to bleed your brakes and let the air out. I have a video explaining how to do it: ua-cam.com/video/zGdi8MN7peg/v-deo.html
Thanks a stack mate, worked like a charm!

I noticed you have the "rear brake leaver" set up for the front
That is normal set up where I am in North America

u saved my day ,thanks
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you 🙏🏼
You’re welcome 😊
cheers - helped me lots

Thank you! What accent is that? It sounds almost like French! Merci beaucoup! :)

How do you tighten them so the brake trigger does not go all the way to the handle?
Josh well this comment is 7 years old but ... there is an imbus bolt under the brake and thats where you set it up how you like it
Josh on the handle of corse

bleed them, pistons aren't moving out equally
Im guessing these are hydraulic brakes?
+Trayvon Cooke Yes they are
Didn't work for me
ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh ahh
Set your speed to 1.5x, this guy talks ridiculously slow
need to true? maybe its false... maybe we need to make it false..
