- Ever wondered what would happen if a pro boxer met a Nak Muay in the center of the ring? Sangarthitt, X4 WBA World Champion, Toyota Revo World Champion and YOKKAO’s first ever professional boxer signed to the Fight Team at the age of 19! Goes head to head with the world famous Superlek Kiatmoo 9. The multiple Lumpini and Thailand Champion, Superlek threw down against the young boxer in the midst of his latest fight camp at the YOKKAOm Training Center in Bangkok, Thailand

When watching something like this, you have to take into consideration that the Muay Thai fighter loses 75% of his offensive arsenal (kicks, knees and elbows) in the competition. It is not only that he can not use those things, he has to consciously interupt the fluid motions he has trained to do for most of his life. Instead of letting his training take over, he has to "think" everything and consciously limit his actions. I think this is one of the reasons why the boxer looks smoother, he can just rely on his training and muscle memory and I believe it shows.

When you spar a good boxer in his sport, it feels so different. They focus so good at the upper part of the body, as a Kickboxer you enter a different zone. All moves, distances and counters are different. Well, there is a lot to learn from the sweet science

Sangarthit is younger than superlek. Hes also a champion in boxing. And superlek is a fighter of the year and also a champion

Pro boxer could honeslty probaly also do muay thai sparring with him. Almost all pro boxers from thailand started with muay thai first then transitioned

How are the thais so controlled and sharp? They throw with full speed but know how to pull the lunch at the last second. IMO that shows a high level of fighting to be able to do that.
Most other western sparring is trying to knock the other guy out.
In Thailand, they fight 1-4 times per month, at this age they already have 150+ fights. Here training is much more relaxed compared to the west, also in Thai culture, it's sooo important to be soft, respectful, and kind to each other I think it reflects even in pro sports.
Notice how even though they both are "Throwing Hands", the Boxer is using his whole body in unison for Offense and Defense.

Hi, loving the content recently. As a boxing channel myself this is really interesting to watch!🥊🤜🏼
Can clearly already see the vast difference. Boxer has more fluid footwork and throws way more combinations. Although something i do notice though with boxers from thailand is they keep the same stance as they had when they were still comepting in muay thai
One strong low kick from the Muay Thai fighter and the “fluid” footwork is gone.

Also what point are you trying to make with low kicks? I dunno why guys like you always need to constantly compare martial arts, its quite childish. Yeah Muay Thai stance need to sacrifice their move ment for defence
their stance might slower but it very effective to defence a kick and Thai people use to it
A few Thai fighter can left that stance when they turn to boxing

@@mrt.789 Hence why they're sparring under Boxing rules, the point is for Superlek to improve his Boxing not the other way around. Superlek (the Thai Boxer) is learning better boxing adaptation with his kickboxing stance and defense, the Boxer is helping him see that. Imagine pointing out the obvious and then act like you did something. Plus Thai's don't elbow and don't knee (for the most part) in Sparring, they just like to play around.
