I think Life is a tragidy in itself. The series describe this perfectly. The characters are lost in their own lonely space. Its melancholic, true and it remembers us to find hope in darkest places.
The best 8 episodes of HBO series... The both of that gyes, Woodey and Mathew are totaly perfect in their act and dialogies and phisolophies... Real life, visions, love, heartbreaks, ritual murders, friendships and humanity... Everything is in it... I adore True detective, 1 st season...PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT

I watched the first season when it first came out and never really appreciated it. I rewatched this season and not long ago finished the last episode. My god this has to be the best season of anything i have ever seen. The acting, the music, the scenary and locations. All of it is perfect. Rust has to be one of the best characters i have ever seen, such great acting.
Best line when they are arguing as always! Russ telling his partner! Without me there is no you!!! What writing !!!! Excellent! I don’t know how Matthew didn’t win the Emmy! Really ! That character was haunting !

Best show ever. The fact that they used the king in yellow showed that they had deep phycological terror fiction roots and could have gone so much further. Sad we didn't get it, still, a perfect show.
I don’t know why but how did this performance go sooo unrecognised by a lot of people…I mean I do agree that Walter white and tony soprano were some great acting performances but the thing which Matthew did just tops my chart…his process his body language he just embodied the character of rust cohle I think in the coming years people who create shows will surely look up to this masterpiece and one hell of a diabolical acting
There are some shows which I would like to re-watch as if I am watching it for the first time, this is definitely one of them few others will be Daredevil, Dexter, Breaking bad, Better call Saul. Etc etc.

Don't think I've heard a more appropriate piece of music to fit a tv series. The sense of foreboding in the song transfers perfectly to the series.

It took me some more days to completely understand the whole story and plots of this even after finishing the season.A true masterpiece.
