Thank you so much for the trip! Everything seemed to be so wonderful. I'd never, ever, make it IRL, though - just watching the trail and the views on my laptop was enough to cause be some nightmares 🥶😉

Wow, looks amazing. I liked Brienzer Rothorn a lot when I visited few years ago, but that hike looks like Brienzer Rothorn upgraded. Definitely hike for my bucket list. Thanks for another great video Tanya!

It's such a great hike, just feels like you are doing something epic the whole time even though its pretty easy to access. It's not like I needed sherpas and multiple days to approach the mountain.

7:12 such a shame to watch a nice travel hike for it to be ruined by the dumb bish that doesn't want to walk anymore

Did this trail once. Would not recommend it if you have fear of heights (as I do). Was pretty scary.

I am coming here in mid May. Will it be green then? And what about weather, too cold to hike? Love your channel :)

The train doesn't run to the top until 3 June 2023, so you would have to hike up from Planalp to reach the trail. There could be snow on the trail during May which would make the trail dangerous. I would suggest choosing something else for May and save this for a summer trip.

Beautiful! What a view. Didn't know Lungern was within a hiking distance (seems far when on the Luzern train), this is great! The train to the peak you mention: is it the one pulled by a steam engine? Seems forever closed whenever I'm there (snowed in, etc.). What are the current mask etc. requirements for trains? I heard there is a slight tightening of the rules coming up?

Yes, it's the vintage mountain steam train to get to the top. We wore masks on it but it wasn't a requirement at the time. I think now it is. This train only runs in summer I think since it's open air. But you can get up there with the Sörenberg cable car instead. Yes, it's a long way to lungern with the car or train because you go around the mountain. But the hike goes more direct. But also we didn't hike all the way down to lungern, we rode the cable car from turren down that last bit.

@@SwissFamilyFun Thanks for the info! Looks like Sörenberg has no train access so it would be a car rental adventure for me :-)

@@JanPBtest you can take a bus to Sörenberg, but the connections are limited for sure. Hope you make it there eventually!

is it possible to take the cable car from Sorenberg and hike the ridge to suggiture and then back? or it s just possible one way? (how long is it from Rothorn to Suggiture?

This trail is in the opposite direction from Rothorn. You'll need to look for the trail which is called Hardergrat (Interlaken side)/Brienzergrat (Brienzer Rothorn side). From what I gathered from the videos here on YT and blog posts online, the views on that trail are astonishing, but it's a very difficult trail with one especially dodgy section around Tannhorn. There is no water along it, not many bail out options, nowhere to camp, it's very exposed and should never be hiked when wet. Local experienced trail runners say it's a full day hike (so I doubt it's possible to make it from Sorenberg to Suggiture in one day, as you'll still need several hours to go down). Brienzergrat is probably my bucket list trail, but I would never attempt it alone. People die on that trail.
If you want to go to Suggiture and Augsthmatthorn, best to do it from Interlaken or Lombachalp (faster and much safer).
