I used to see the Spin Doctors at an East Village dive bar back when I was at NYU. The only band I even saw going from nothing (like, 5 people in a bar on a Monday night) to the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Their music always puts a smile on my face.
Wetlands? I guess that was on the way side, but Chris was there a lot. My friend, also named Chris, was working on a kids' album with him, but it never came to pass.
@@patrickmcandrew4949 No, not the Wetlands, though I saw them there too. I was referring to Nightingale's, on 2nd ave and 13th street (or somewhere in that vicinity.) Was quite a scene back in the day.
If I heard this come on the radio I would change the station…BUT after hearing the groove it has reawakened the feeling of how fun this song really is ! Thanks for this Marty
Hey Marty, thank you for posting this. One of my favorite '90s song! Another great jam they did was Little Missy Can't be wrong. I learning this Two Princes now. Thank you for posting this.
This song was used as the jingle for one of the two biggest telephone companies in Latin America. Its hilarious to listen to it still to this day. It makes me feel like I was calling to find out why I randomly got subscribed to a text message service I didn't pay for! Hahahahahaha!
Chris Barron's father is a close friend of mine (he lives near me outside of Washington DC) and I've met Chris on multiple occasions. Every time i see Chris, I greet him and leave him with one phrase: BA DIP BA DIP!
Hate this song so much! Grrr! We ALL have music that we can't stand. Feel the the same way about Mr. Jones, No Rain, 500 miles, anything by Nickleback >:(
Truly an incredible one hit wonder that somehow represents an entire decade of the evolution of guitar oriented rock music. I love the nostalgic way South Park used this song when Randy got pissed that the big Vape companies were trying to take his Tegridy and goes to the Vape's or Pussy Sticks Processing plant and beats the hell out of everyone and blows it up. Awesome choice for a stoner anthem
It's weird how this reminds me of high school and the title of it is a reference to one of the biggest mystery's in western European history that almost definitely involved child murder
