Brief Synopsis: Made for television, this film chronicles the life and work of real-life New York City undercover policewoman Mary Glatzle (here played by Karen Valentine). A single mom, Ms. Glatzle is in dire need of money to pay for her son's mounting medical expenses. Thus, she joins the NYC police force, Mary makes it known that she will take on any dangerous assignment so long as it fattens her bank account. Providing to be adept at disguises, Mary acts as a decoy for muggers and rapists, posing as everything from a hooker to a little old lady -- and in the process, she becomes famous as "Muggable Mary."
I’m a 90s baby but it’s something about these 60,70,&80s movies that hit different
Yes... they hit with a real depth.
So true I freaking love them
Anna Maria Horsford has been around since forever. This queen also deserves her flowers.
“Okaaaye”
Mary Glatzle was the first female officer to be awarded the NYPD's medal of valor.
Is this film a true story?
@@susanford2388 Yes
And she deserved t too. Brave woman.
I saw this as a kid. My dad loved this movie. He saw it whenever it was broadcast. And just now I came across it by accident.
Thinking of my pop as I watch it
Really enjoyed this movie. Nice simple story. Great acting all around especially from the kid.
Anna Marie Horsford looks soooo beautiful! Am I the only one who thinks so?
no! that's An Antiguan American beauty.
Wow, I never knew she was the cop in The Wayans Brothers!
@@blockmasterscott ironic isn't it lol
Why would you be the only one who thinks so?
Actually, Horsford & Valentine, were gorgeous. 😊😍
I love these 80's made for tv films so much better than nowadays. No vulgar language, good scripts & good acting & themes.
I always loved Karen Valentine....this is a cute movie; good clean family entertainment!
The poor dog is still running around homeless , great movie , she can ACT ;D and so beautiful, very well cast. You can see for REAL she is tough
Great movie! The acting is particularly good for a TV movie of this era. Even the kid was astounding, and I often can't stand child characters/actors, because they make them too cutesy and/or wise. But he and Karen Valentine had a great rapport that was fun to watch. You actually believed they were mother/son.
Manfocused...thank you for sharing your very good and clean movies
simosc2 yes my resource for clean movies
Very very inspiring movie. Thanks for sharing. Love it. Congrats 👏👏👏👏
I enjoyed watching this movie
Thanks for uploading.
This is the first time I watched a full movie and teared up as the credits rolled. What a delightful, delicious film!! Always thought Karen Valentine was an interesting actress, with her eternal youthful look and delicate beauty. I've seen her in many roles but never heard of this "Muggable Mary". The youngster playing her son did a phenomenal job as well. Really enjoyed such a great piece of work. Thank you for posting.
Thank you manfocused for uploading this wonderful movie, superb acting, young Eric was delightful.. really love a movie with a strong female lead.
Great movie, she was the greatest female cop on the force, Great actress, liked her in the original Starsky and Hutch, she played as a psycho nurse, she deserves an award for this movie, loved ❤ it.😊.
Seen this when i was 8. Now i am 45. Still love it. Great flick.
Thank you so much for uploading this film, it's one of my absolute favourites. What a treat to be able to watch it again. Cheers!
Awesome movie. The little boys is such a good actor among great acting adults.
👍Totally enjoyed this movie💯
A Good Movie, well acted and the typecasting was good especially between Karen Valentine and Michael Pearlman (the young actor who played her son). Karen will always be remembered fondly for the many roles she took on, especially her work on Room 222 (1969-1974). The youngster clearly had a talent for the screen as and actor, and did take on some other roles in a movie with Paul Simon (1980)called "One Trick Pony" , as well as a TV. sitcom called "Charles in Charge" (1984) which further demonstrated an acting ability more advanced then his years. Sadly, he dropped out of the acting business in 1987 ending what I feel could have been a very successful career as an actor. Who knows, maybe he will change his mind and return to film some day.
What a great show . Really enjoyed this so much !
Thanks for the upload. I really enjoyed the movie and relationship she had with her son.
This was a really good picture. Wow! Nice to see the old New York.
It's always nice to see the old New York.
Sindyred I'm from NY that's exactly what I said
It IS nice to see OLD NYC.....without Disney!!!
Whatever happened to these types of movies that felt so real?
Valetine is sooooooo beautiful...she remind me of Leah Reminy
Garden Glory She do REMIND you of her a little bit they favor!!!
Sort of, but Karen Valentine has way way more sex appeal than Leah Remini.
Growing up in the 70s and early 80s I always wanted to be just like women like these sort...the ones who had nice clothes but were down to earth, the ones who lived independent lives in apartments with lots of plants! And had cool jobs! This was a fab movie!
This was such a great movie. Warm enjoyable and very touching. Thank you for posting it.
A fantastic movie! Great story and the cast was perfect. Such a joy to watch.
Good movie...not corny( it could have been)..good cast....many moons ago Valentine and me were in THE Miss California/Miss America Pageant....she was very cute.friendly a nd talented...l remember her very well...
I thoroughly enjoyed watching Karen Valentine in that movie, I even liked her in room 222, and acting along side of Rock Hudson in McMillan and Wife and along side of David Soul and Michael Glaser in Starsky and Hutch. Thank you Manfocused ❤❤❤
A sweet movie. Always liked Karen V as an actress. Saw this movie several times.
Hey 'Focus Man,' Thank you much for posting this 'Oldie but Goodie.' Back in the days I had a crush on 'Karen Valentine when she was doing the 'Room 222' thing.

I forgot to Thank you for posting this Movie. Very much enjoyed it.
It seems this would be a very Good movie to have re broadcast considering the current climate we are in as far as the me too movement and the empowerment of women in this modern society which is underway.
thanks for this love this movie
The baseball boys in the beginning were from my grammar school. Queens, NY. We were all so excited that we got to see them in TV.
Karen Valentine would have made a good choice for the role of Mary Beth Lacey in Cagney and Lacey.
This was a nice, clean movie. The mom reminds me of Leah Remini...
That was a Gem it was a better Police story than many others a great combination of human VALUES and the back up of others all the way through a great ending ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Loved it when Mary sucker punched the martial arts instructor
She reminds me of Linda Lavin, her accent, facial structure and hair color I wonder if there is any relation between the two. Oh did I mention how beautiful the both of them are?
shaniyah smith no relation except both are Emmy award winning actresses.
shaniyah smith That's true! She also reminds me of Leah Remini from King of Queens.
shaniyah smith only relation the two have are is that they probably are from the same city...
NO..she looks more like Leah Remini and Valeri Harper...Not mrs. lanvin. I looked Linda up...no resemblance and no real life relation.
Yes! Linda Lavin! I'm sitting here wondering who she looked like
I first saw this I was 15 sweet 15. And in love with Vincent Edward Nellom!!!! I miss those days. Thanks for this movie loves Karen Valentine

Women can do it all! I love this movie, and it's example that we must not live in fear...it only holds us back.
Old Golden years- 💟👍
Thank you so very much, really enjoyed this movie
Manfocused, I think you have a small typo in your description: "Providing to be adept at disguises ..."
I expect you mean, "Proving to be adept at disguises ..."
In case you think it's worth fixing that trivial oopsie.
A truly talented thespian 🎭 cast here in the life story of a real life NYPD officer Made for a good movie 🍿
