In Nikons defense not all of their binos are junk. The Monarch 5 8×42 is fantastic glass. I've owned them for several years and they've never let me down. Another recommendation is the Steiner military/marine 8x35, made in Germany $250-300.
Steiner..I should of mentioned that one. Fantastic brand. Yes my wife uses all Nikon cameras. They do make good binoculars but you get what you pay for. Ty for that addition.
Interesting timing on this video because I’ve been doing a little research on binoculars. At the park, where I volunteer, they have 10x50’s in the trucks (can’t remember the brand) and they are good for looking across the lake (several hundred yards) at anyone being “sneaky”, but are worthless for looking closer. I’ve wore glasses all my life and find binoculars are a PITA to use because of that, however, I didn’t know about the eye piece extending to help that, so thank you. I’m thinking, for my needs, something compact in the 8x30, or so, range would work. Hell, I’ve even thought of the monocular type because of my glasses and they are compact. Any thoughts Dan?
Monoculars are good and serve a purpose for sure. I do not like them for a sustained time...ie watching animals behavior over a few minutes. Looking for trespassers they would work fine. But binoculars in my opinion more universal.
If any of you have binoculars you are really happy with please let me know in the comments below. Ty for watching.
Good to know! Thanks Dan!
Ty for commenting.
Great video, one of the best I've ever seen on explaining the uses and features of quality binoculars. Thank you.
Ty much appreciated

@@SurviveOutdoors thanks Dan
It is worth saving for a good pair of binoculars. They will last a lifetime.
