I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve heard this wonderful piece of music but the soprano really makes the difference. What an incredible range she has. Just loved it but when I listen to Ennio’s music I feel a little sad as I won’t hear any new compositions any more. I guess the angels in heaven are the only ones listening to his new compositions now.

ACTUALLY "Chi Mai" was first written for an Italian film called 'Maddalena' (that whole score is amazing) and the director of 'The Professional' loved it so much, he not only asked to use this world-famous piece ~ he commissioned Ennio to write as much as possible of the film score ...in that neo-classical style. In Britain 'Chi Mai' became a hit in the pop charts, because it was again reused over the titles of a biographical TV series, an historical drama called 'The Life & Times of David Lloyd George' ~ who was a one-time Prime Minister, who hailing from Wales.

DIVA RIGACCI has performed now for many years in concert with The Great Master. Because of infirmity, on His current tour (here Morricone is in Lyons) THE Maestro is SEATED while conducting. Indeed, at the O2 Arena in London, Ennio was accompanied on and off stage by what I believe was a nurse. (She of course was dressed elegantly, and not in nurse's uniform!). The assembled Musicians are The Czech National Symphony Orchestra. The massed vocalists are the Hungarian Kodaly Choir. Nice video work, jfnine.
