- So I have finally taken up the bass, and have decided to start my journey with the Ibanez SR300EB as my starter. I do plan on documenting my progress, so look forward to that either here on youtube, or on my instagram! Unfortunately my sound demos of me playing the bass were damaged (probably because I had the wrong settings or something). Will have it figured out for the next video. Was very fortunate in 2021 to find someone selling an SR300E a few miles away from me. I needed a spare active bass as back up for my Warwick Rockbass and this one was for sale on Facebook marketplace. The guy wanted less than £100 for his black/grey/white & while I was suspicious, it all seemed to be okay. He said it was sold, so I contacted someone else selling a blue one & then the original seller tells me it's available.
His SR had no 9v battery and he couldn't test it, so offered me it for £95. I drove an hour or so to meet him, complete with a new 9v to test it. Added battery plugged it in & sounded absolutely fine , so I offered him the opportunity to add more to the asking price, but he was a gentleman to say he wouldn't increase the asking price.
Easily one of the best bargains of my lifetime 😊
All it needed were new strap buttons added & I actually love the feel of it to play, over my Rockbass which has been relegated to the spare.
Considering buying a Candy apple red SR300EB if I can find a pre-owned example

I recently got a sire 5 string bass that peaks way above its price point and ticks almost all of my boxes, but I'm so getting an Ibanez bass one day cuz they also do the same thing on top of having minimal neck dive.

Yee! I've made sure to keep the card where I'll remember. And I'm having more fun with the bass than I did with the guitar so that's a bonus. I've already started putting covers out on youtube as well!

Rest that thumb on the pickup man! That’s how I do it too, and it helps keep your reference when your not using that thumb. I love that body shape and flat black color. Great bass review. Can’t wait to hear how it sounds!
Yup, that's something I've observed from other bassists. And that's what I have been doing, but I have a hitchhikers thumb and my resting positioning looks pretty weird haha
@@SteffTheElf the hitchhiker thumb will go away over time. I had the same problem in the beginning too. The more you play though, the less awkward it feels, just like any other instrument. Looking forward to watching your progress with it

Decided to buy same bass. Can you tell me the name of color you chose. Your bass looks much nicer than anything I've seen online. Great video ✌️
The color option is weathered black. I think I picked that version because of the wood grain and they didn't have the natural mahogany color that I would've chosen had that option been available.

I think you may have figured it out by now , but the neck pick-up is the "P" pick-up which sounds more fuller and richer and bassier and lower than the bridge pick-up which sounds more brighter and stuff.
This is literally me !! Ahah. And im getting the exact same bass... just waiting for it to arrive and im feeling so impatient because I've been umming and urring about it for a year until now ! . I feel like our experience has basically been the same lol -I went for this colour because im not keen on the glossy look ... and when I got my delivery for my bass stand it wasn't even wrapped and left on my door step ??!! Like 😂anyway . Instantly subscribed!! 😂😁

I have the GS 300 . it's Pearl with 24 fretts and soap bar pickups. $195.00 in the pawn shop - brand new and it sounds awesome....$300.00 retail.

funny story: I ordered myself a Player Plus P Bass, got it, played it for 5 minutes and decided to send it back and i bought exacply that Ibanez bass for 1/3 of the money and could buy a very good amp for the rest... I dont say the P bass is bad but to Oldschool for me.

Creative video...it takes moxie to buy a bass, but the rewards can last a lifetime. Just practice....it is not hard to learn to play the bass....just takes patience and consistancy

Yup, that's me. Talkative, my mouth runs so much that before editing this it was like an hour and fifteen minutes long. We have too much fun here haha
