Awesome mate! ... Airfix have produced a 2023 release of a Dambuster Lancaster.. it has decals AJ-W this particular aircraft was flown by Kiwi pilot Flt Lt Les Munro he passed away just a few years ago.. he was an honoured Kiwi... cheers from NZ👍✈️🇳🇿
Hi. Thanks for that. I have the kit in my stash ready for next year. The dome in the clears that you were unsure about is for the H2S scanner. It was not fitted to 617 aircraft.
Fantastic video my friend really in-depth review the instructions look nice and simple to follow can’t argue with cartograph decals really nice kit looking forward to seeing you build it thanks for sharing 👍👍
I’ve just finished building this one. I chose to add the Eduard PE interior set, mainly for the Flight Engineer’s panel- Even though there’s a decal in the kit, it’s just something I wanted to do. It goes together really well. Absolutely no issues at all. A canopy mask was a good choice, too. I enjoyed the build so much, in fact, that I immediately bought the HK 1:48 standard Lancaster kit. You’ve got to agree, it’s an awesome subject matter. Cheers, Jason.
I have this on my bench currently, and while the Eduard PE only covers cockpit detail, Flightpath make a full interior and flap set for the kit - Hannants stock it - careful not to get the one for the Hasagawa kit.
Thanks Jason, as ever a very fair review. I have built several of these Lancs and one more awaiting my attention; my overall review is that they are accurate (for 1/72nd scale) and fun to build and paint- my original intent was to build all aircraft from Operation Chastise- think I'll stop at 5! Agreed the kit is not perfect, but the niggles are few and far between and the whole thing goes together beautifully.
it's really nice kit, just watch the colour call outs they are wrong, get a canopy Mask set and cockpit PE set would be my advice👍👍Edit - use the right props for the kit, as they are Canadian Built Lancs (B.III's) should be paddle type - I think.
It has the dam behind it with upkeep exploding so it seems to be heading in the wrong direction entirely. Given that neither scheme is G George, the aircraft would be on a collision course with other Lancs......

everyone loves a Lanc
Hi Jason, This looks like a great kit. Even at 1/72, it's going to be a big model. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day. Jeff

Hi Jason! Excellent review as per usual! Built this kit right out of the box. Twice. Did use a mask set. It's a great kit! All the best! 🍻

Just a quick question, how does the Airfix Dambuster Kit compare to the Revell Dambuster Kit?
No idea I don’t have the Revell one.
@@ModelkitStuff I know the Revell kit is cheaper, so I wondered if the kit wasn't as good.
@@RaiderDave-xe1pn if I was a betting man I would bet that Airfix would be newer so probably a better kit but I dont know
Am I right in thinking that the box art lancaster is heading in the wrong direction .......?
I dont think so, depends what side of the lake your on
