I think that Gap was in Cass if the person that is building the ship wanted to RC the ship they could. But don't hold me to my word about that. But so for she looks good the copper plating will make her look just as beautiful as the copper plating that is on HMS VICTORY.
So John did you use wood sealer before painting the hull or after? Won’t the glue used for the copper plating cause the paint to come off if you haven’t sealed it?
@@JohnsWoodenShips thanks for your reply as usual John. So do the copper plates have their own self adhesive backing or do they need to be glued. If they need to be glued then surely gluing onto the copper paint has the risk of the paint coming off?
@@philsreef746 The copper plates are just copper, you have to use CA glue on them. You don't care about the paint ,you won't be able to see the paint, you will have copper plates covering the paint.
Great idea John of using water seal on the wood. - Mike
That will make the black painting easier :)

Thank you very much my friend!!!
John, how did you go about defining where the waterline is for the plating? Was it defined on the drawings or is there a formula?
I took reference of the height over to the rudder of the real ship. Nothing in the drawings about that.

No wood sealer on the painted are because i will cover it with copper plates. I used wood sealer only in the upper area.
