Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Suleiman's wife Mahidevran just arrived from the palace of Manisa. He is looking forward to seeing his wife.

Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.

After watching this series and read some transcripts of history, I've always wondered why they didn't show much of Mehmet. Historically, Mehmet was considered the most intelligent and the "has it all" kind of prince and was also favored by the Sultan. Mustafa was also a great prince but they didn't gave justice for Mehmet in this series. :(

I appreciate the effort the adult actors are putting into playing the characters who are still pretty young. Mihrimah right after the actor switch into adult versions still seems very cheerful, frivolous and childlike, as if she wasn't a full adult yet.

In suleymans reign, all prince went to their province to be trained how to rule, prepared to take responsibility if they become future sultan, taken on wars so that they learn.. However later generations all this was missing, no one went to war or to thier province, no one was trained..

You really have to give kudos to Suleiman for not forgetting Cihangir, making sure he got the attention he needed as well, in spite of his condition as a hunchback, which really makes Suleiman stand out as a father. Back during that period, if you were a royal and if you had a condition like that, you were effectively an outcast in the court, which is why I'm glad to see that Suleiman considers the needs of ALL his children.

I know that this sounds pretty cynical, but if I could sum up the entire show into one single sentence, I would say, "An extremely dysfunctional family with severe attention and self-confidence issues with the occasional tendency to commit murder or suicide." I know, that sounds cruel, but I'm just calling it like I see it. Good riddance to them and the system they had to live with.

Unfortunately, it all had less to do with the possibility of overthrowing their father and everything to do with them raising civil war against their brothers (which did happen and is why the rule was created by Mehmed the Conqueror!). Sadly it wasn't until Kosem's time that the matter began to even start to be resolved.
@@Redluna32 it didnt help tho, the men were extremely greedy for power and would backstab their brothers without one thought, that's why there were so many problems and sultans being throned and dethroned during kosems era. All brothers schemed to become sultan destabilizing the throne. If the men just gave birth to one or at max two sons instead of h0eing around with every woman on sight and were less jealous and treacherous, I think the dynasty would still be alive

Suleiman wanted to see Mehmet his throne, but Mehmet died at a young age of 22 and in memory of his late son, Suleiman built the "Shahzada Mosque" in the memory of his beloved son, where the Ottoman Prince Mehmet, Prince Jahangir and Humashah Sultana are buried. Humashah Sultana was the daughter of Prince Mehmet and Esmahan Sultana. (Asma-khan Sultana was the daughter of Ottoman Princess Sah Sultana, Suleiman' sister)
The death of Mehmet and the birth of Humashah Sultana took place in the same year 1543 in Manisa state. Later Humashah Sultana was brought to Istanbul, Topkapi Palace. She went to where she lived under the shadow of her grandmother Khurram Sultana and paternal aunt Mihrimah Sultana.
After the death of Mehmet, Suleiman stopped thinking about his throne....He said that the one who is destined to be Sultan will get the throne...

Mustafa was deserving candidate for the ottaman throne not anyone else's , he had many exceptional qualities. But Suleiman grew jealous of him, and feared his over growing popularity. He favoured hurrems Children's over his conscience
Mustafa only weakness was he considered hurrems children's as his own brothers while hurrem and his children kept plotting towards him. He was very generous was his only crime.
Also under ottoman culture when any of sultan sons succeeded him, the rest of his sons were put to death by the successor so, anyone can't challenge his authority. Suleiman knew this. Yet all this loving his sons was preposterous act
I don't think so. Historians have always noted that the only fault of Mustafa was his mother. Suleiman was paranoid. His ancestors had been overthrown by their newer generation. Sultan as he grew old, grew paranoid as well. As much as Hurrem and Mihrimah's role in Mustafa's death is disputed, the basic reason why Suleiman's paranoia reached a peak lay in Mustafa's beard. If you see the series, in the initial period, Mustafa's face stayed shaven. In Ottoman culture, a shehzade is not supposed to grow a beard unless he is a sultan. Sultan was an independent thinker. But as he grew old, his paranoia did too and he began loving his throne more than his first born itself.
Not because he is jelous of mustafa,its that mustafa keep doing mistake in which thats not allowed n didnt take the order by suleiman,on top of that he married to kapudam pashas daughter against their tradition rule

Comparing Mahidevran and Firuze... Suleiman definitely appears to have a type, lol. Hurrem looks nothing like Firuze or Mahidevran. That was probably just a casting decision, but if it was historical in any way, it would make sense as to why Hurrem was so hated. She looked and behaved nothing like the others.
