GED Math Topics to Know for a High Score

What GED math topics do you need to know to pass GED math? You can use this list to make yourself a checklist as you prepare to pass GED math. The list in this video includes the majority of topics that may come up on GED math. The main exception is GED geometry. I am making a separate video for geometry. This being said, there's still more than enough to pass in this video!

Please note that nobody can predict exactly which topics you'll get on the GED test. Some topics such as slope, functions, percents, and word problems do seem to come up frequently on the test. While many GED test-takers have told me they had questions on these topics, that does NOT mean you shouldn't focus on other topics as well, because there's simply no guarantee about what type of questions you'll get. It's best to just focus on learning as many of these topics as you can, rather than trying to predict exactly what you need to know. You don't have to know all of these topics to pass. But know that anything and everything on this list is fair game. Every topic you neglect may come back to haunt you on the test!

Don't let test anxiety hurt you all. Polynomials will be the hardest math you could do, and once you learn that, you'll be a lot easier off. If you can, get a study buddy or tutor but if not, make studying your career for temporary until you pass. Listen to this man. I'm retaking mine after failing 3 times and this time i have a supernatural feeling I'm going to pass.

-Watch this video as a guideline/ Templet
-Make sure to take a lot of practice tests. There should many free tests online.
-See what you are lacking and work on it.
-Do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT be afraid to take the test!! The math isn’t crazy, most of this math is math you’ll need in your everyday work environment/life.
- Last but not least, Pray! Not everyone will do this, but if you believe in God, I highly recommend you do so, I can’t accentuate that enough.
If you want to move on in life you are going to have to get the wheels going and stop procrastinating.

I don’t understand when I watch these math videos and then take the test I fail miserably but when I just wing it/ go with my best bet I come really close to passing even when I wing it in the practice test I always pass. I think trying to understand math confuses my brains.

Thank you for making this video I take the test tomorrow and the fact that you made a review video is really helpful there is something about being able to review stuff that you have studyed for a month that just takes away the tensity of being nervous and one your mind is relaxed it sends a order to your body to relax as well

i took the tabe test back in 2016 and don't remember the difficulty, but i scored a 7.9 average for "normal math", with everything but the other math at 12.9, which i scored a 10.9 i think.
how's the comparison between the tabe/pre ged/ged tests ?
@@TheDJKILLIN the best tip I can give is, is to use Kahn academy app. It's free and has practice tests. I took the GED practice test first then hit the app on what to work on and learn. The test it self for the most part is multiple choice, has a little bit of everything, basic math, geometry, rates, ratio.

Hi - I failed thr MATH 3X'S so far.I scheduled my test for March 17th-2020. My passing score stays the same between 142-144.. any feedback...? Im 37 years old , this is my last subject to obtain the GED. Ive been employed for 14 years now working in the same office, I am so tired of this day to day JOB..i need a career something im passionate about and I TRULY NEED TIS GED too kick up my life 10 notches lol!!!!
Have you reviewed your score report from your test? To best help you with this, it would be helpful to know which topics you're struggling with. Your score is close to passing, so you're on the right track. I'm thinking that if you can just improve on a handful of your weak areas, you'll pass.

I'm 14 years old and I plan to take the GED when I'm 16. So I'm just going to study as much as possible until then and try a few practice tests. I think two years should be enough time to prepare. Here i am 4 years later trying to do practice tests so I can better understand word problems because trying to study for the test of Math tests give me serious anxiety, because even after reading the questions I somehow can't seem to grasp which formula etc I need to use to come up with my answer or I get halfway there and then I'm stuck as to what to do next.

We are on the same boat ; i want to join the NAVY thats why I'm doing my GED. i started class for my GED a month ago passed 3 test within 2 weeks only need to pass math next week. You could do it if you put your mind to it.

Hello should I study the things on the list or should I start from the beginning most of the things on the list I never hear of and I know with math everything coincides together
Hi! The list builds up from the basic, beginning math skills. I recommend focusing on the topics that you've never heard of. To avoid getting overwhelmed, I recommend picking out 3-5 topics at a time, mastering them, then picking another 3-5 topics. If you break it up into smaller chunks, it won't be that bad. Good luck!

God I hate math. I have taken and passed all my ged exams without any studying or prepping except for math I've been outta school for 10 years. Its so discouraging I just dnt understand how and why some of these problems even work. I got a 140 on the practise test .. uhh
What I'd like to know is why the points go from 100 to 200

I'm focus on the hiset math reading and lanauge arts I miss the math by 2 points I miss the reading by 1 point and the lanauge art by 1 point.
