Absolutely not!💪🏻An absolute icon!I still remember watching John,Cleve Dean,Johnny Walker and many others pulling on television when I was young.
Impossible. Unless an 18 year old becomes the best in the world at his weight and stays there for 40 years. All the while beating guys weight classes above also and being the best in the world numerous times even well into his 40s

Universally John Brzenk is recognized as the greatest of all times. Many top arm wrestlers including the likes of Levan, Denis, Devon Larratt, and such looked up to John, respects or idolized him.
John’s lost quite a bit of matches throughout his career but the man has cemented his status dominating the sport for over 40 years, beating guys who are much bigger than he was. John is also humble and always pulls with class and respect to all opponents and never resorts to mind games or over the top trash talks.
Even now at 59, he is still a beast for his age. Longevity & status is what defines him as the goat.
Look at this young man pushing 60 like a 30 year old... Greatest to ever do it!
I really hope John continues competing. We need him.

For someone of such stature John is unbelievable humble. Much lesser accomplished athletes let their status go to their heads so easily and then you have one of the most dominant and greatest not only of armwrestling but of sports in general being so down to earth. Is almost as if he doesn't realize how impactful his career has been to the point other athletes (who many idolize) such as Denis, Levan, Ermes or Devon look up to him.

One of the factor that makes him the greatest is when he lose to the top guys,he was always able to get his redemption..Lupkes,Gary Goodridge,cleve dean,Johnnie walker,Zaur,Devon,Ron Bath,Travis Bagent,Tim Bresnan,Andrey Pushkar,Denis,Alexey and many more..Trubin,Vasili,Scott Norton,Alan Karaev and Arsen Liliev had his number because they only pulled once..and of course Krasi..we'll find out tomorrow if John is able to get his revenge
Well said. John usually figured guys out over the course of multiple meetings..and he's got a winning record again most top guys
I think Liliev won cuz John chose not to slip and go to the straps.. could have won 5-0 othrwise but he lost 2-3..the man often values a way of winning more than winning itself..
As for Krasi, he only met John after the shoulder surgery when John had started losing in his own weight class.. don't think that losing record means a lot

@@darthvader7886 He was 95 the last time when he competed for the middleweight title, but he has gained back some weight now. Also to OP, asking if John trains. John doesn't train with weights, he trains by pulling at the table
Just the left arm, which is untrained. The right arm is definitely still big, watch videos of him next to some of the other guys like prudnik.

I started watchuing armwrestling somewher around 2017-18, and I think I have never seen any tournament event going on since then. Only supermatches everywhere.
Engin, maybe it would be a great travel to the past, also something fresh for almost every single new fan of armrestling - and organising a tournament event? I would personally would love to see such thing.
