They're using OUR money (tax dollars) to ''buy back'' guns that we have bought with money that we earned and they taxed, so I guess we are buying them twice and still can't own them!
They are doing the same thing with water rights in California now.
S G Armalite, a private company, designed the AR-15 (hence the name, Armalite Rifle model/design 15). They were also originally produced by a Colt, also a private company. The the models that went to law enforcement or the military (M16s) were then bought by the government.
Alright his best idea any of these now highly coveted banned items should be stored in quantity at convenient most likely isolated centralized location. I work for the Federal Bureau of Prisons x10 years. The feds don’t have “parole” per say but
We do have a term called “good time.” For every year they serve that they stay out
Of trouble while incarcerated they get time off of their sentence. They are released early but are still under the Bureau’s thumb until their actual out date. The NUMBER 1 violation that we get convicts coming back for is......you guessed it, weapons violation. They are in possession of a handgun or other firearm. When I talk to convicts about these laws the politicians are trying to pass the convicts are usually very candid. They say things like, “good, makes it safer for me” or “laws like that don’t stop sh&$, look at me. I’m not supposed to have a firearm but I live in Detroit.” Politicians know the truth, they just don’t care. They will do whatever it takes for that next vote, right or wrong.
Especially when the laws aren't enforced in the first place. No plea bargain for gun crimes.

Look up the Coal Miner Wars and how it led to Roosevelt/NRA and others forming the NFA of 1934, to ensure that the people didnt have the firepower to fight Government as they did during the Coal Miner Wars. Example, there are several states that have legalized the use of marijuana. The federal government has said that federal law still makes it illegal and they will prosecute drug cases.

you are very right on this statement, as written by U.S. Supreme court Chief Justice John Marshall in the Marbury vs. Madison case he stated "A Law repugnant to the Constitution is void, and therefore unenforceable.” in 1803, just 12 years after the beginning of our country.

J E neither as far as Cops and law abiding citizens.. our police here encourage law abiding Conceal carry by its (again law abiding) citizens .. in a neighboring town I had gone to a Walmart and there were State police and local police at all the exits..(side note had come from a surgical-injection in neck-procedure so wasn't carrying)and asked him is it safe to go in &a he said yes they were just looking for some with felony warrant. I told him I usually carry but not that day &He said if you carry you need to always carry..--by the way this is Texas(East)..anyways this I feel is how most Cops at least in Rural(well not big cities)Texas and other States feel..LEFT lies and misleads ..simply because to do away with rest of Constitution you have to get rid of the 2nd

I was just thinking the same thing. I didn't buy the weapons from this dipstick. Also on the subject of the cops being out gunned. They are not. There ar15 sbrs are capable of three round bursts. @Chris Bailey While I agree with most of your statement I believe in the contacts that he is saying that the police are outgunned he is referring to the fact that the citizens have AR-15's and AK47 which in that aspect the police are not outgunned they have access to M-4's Which are fully automatic not semi automatic And for the ones that don't have access to M-4's they do have access to AR-15's as well so they're still not outgunned they're evenly gunned But I do agree if that is not the context that you use for what he said then yes certain collections of Weapons do contain things that would outgun the police but those are not average weapons that the majority of the people have

I have one major problem with being forced to store a gun at a specified facility to be accessed only at certain times.. What happens when one morning you get notified that there was a break-in and your firearm along with all others at the facility are now missing? and that you are not getting compensated.

The 2nd Amendment is about defense against a tyrannical government. Yet, I don’t believe anyone is suggesting a civilian market should be allowed to buy/own mortars and rocket launchers. Otherwise bank robbers would have a lot more incentive to go on the prowl because it would take an army to eliminate only a small group of bandits with “light weapons;” thereby creating too many ramifications in a civil society. But, the debate about “semi-auto assault rifles” is ridiculous, since that’s the most basic and fundamental of small arms. Just like the 1st Amendment has some restrictions when it’s used to incite violence or cause immediate panic, but hate speech is protected.

There was a bill passed not long after the signing of the amendment forbidding the use of "unique" weapons that might be developed in the future. They didn't want the general public to be shooting each other with cannons if something made them unhappy.
As good as this bill is, the anti-gun groups have been using this loop hole to ban what they can get away with.

The biggest political incident I recall from around then, was the Bill Clinton lying to Congress scandal.
