I know the vid is from a few months ago but a useful tip for you when working on japanese bikes. The cross head screws with a small dot on them means they are JIS (Japanese Industry Standard) which uses a completely different angle on the walls of the cross. This is why Philips and Pozi drive screwdrivers don't work well and round out the screws.
Very informative video on the carb, re-build, also a very usefull fact about not leaving the parts too long in the ultrasonic cleaner to prevent them turning black, thank you.
Ich liebe dich!!:D Überall im Internet geschaut wie ich die Leerlaufschraube (Pilot Screw) einstellen kann. Und du erklärst es! Mach weiter mit deinen Videos! Bist der beste!!!!
Hi Chiefpep. This is more good stuff! You appear very confident on that carb rebuild, I hope I’m the same when the individual components start to pile up round about me!! Yikes! Great reference video though!👍
Hello, Chiefpep! Thanks for providing us w/ your guidance on the builds! I’m doing a similar build with a 1982 XV920 cafe. Would you be able to do a video on installing aftermarket rear shock? Or adapting one from a different bike? ( Mono shock) thank you for all the help!
Miguel Galicia It's not a real item but you find some info about it in this video ua-cam.com/video/vyDU4sp8yC4/v-deo.html I will make some extra footage for you this Saturday ok?
Chiefpep Thanks, I’ll do some more reading. People on the forums use shocks from other bikes but I’m not sure how to adapt the shock! Measurements, etc. Thanks!
No I'm sorry. I don't adjust the jets. I let the Dynojet tuner do this. Otherwise I would have to circel around my house for ages and constantly adjust something. Better to let the expert do this on a Dynojet bench in a fixed garage.
dav mel Heat up the swingarm enormously. If you watch other video's of mine you see that a lot of parts like the alternator, bearings of gears don't come off or out unless you heat them. It should be almost red hot. Then you can tap them out from the inside with a long piece of metal/tool/driver.
No not really. Although it's a one cable system which doesn't really help. Try to find if the cable is squeezed somewhere or maybe makes a strange bend. And you could lubricate it. Finally some W40 on the spring on the carbs which should pull it back could help. Good luck!
I don't know. I brought it to the Dynojet tuner. He tried so many jets to have it right on the end. It depends on your airfilters and exhaust which ones you need. Always start with standard jetting though.

That's a personal opinion... It's very hard for us UA-camrs to get through the strict copyright guidlines. We have to find music which UA-cam accepts. That's a real hard task. Try to make a video one time and you will find out that it is not so easy as it all looks. Thanks.

Hui 9697 Thanks for your comment, but to which part of the video are you referring to? I have every type of crosshead screwdriver in my garage...?

Excellent video. VERY informative. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
set screws on the half shell! very good storage idea.
1/4" Hex JIS bits in a small electric impact driver will make quick work of those stuck screws.

Heb je met 1 carb geen pomp meer nodig? In principe verwacht ik geen problemen als je die zou verwijderen.
Kan ik dan gewoon de brandstofpomp relais er af koppelen
Top! will be great to have your knowledge to put on top my carbs on my Xv750 1996

Hello great videos,
have you ever removed the bearings for the swing arm?
dav mel Thanks! Yes, I always do. The needle bearings wear very fast so you should always replace them.
how did you get them out?
dav mel Heat up the swingarm enormously. If you watch other video's of mine you see that a lot of parts like the alternator, bearings of gears don't come off or out unless you heat them. It should be almost red hot. Then you can tap them out from the inside with a long piece of metal/tool/driver.
okay, thanks! I will try this as well.
dav mel They are a real pain. I know. But this will work. Trust me. Good luck!
is the throttle normally hard to pull with the oem carbs? mine seem hard to pull vs other bikes

Hello bro I want the bowl of the carbs !! I want help !!
Of which tupe of carburator? There are two versions...
Mixing part of BOTH carbs actually is very bad practice. Some parts are different, eg main jets
The jetting has been done later on the dynojet
