I think maybe you forgot to inspect and clean the long jet in that tube under that main jet. That long tube jet has tiny holes in it that atomize the fuel and they very often get clogged. BTW great video. Very professional.
So i know this is an old video but hopefully some one can help me on the part that the mixture needle goes into how is that assembled I know there's a spring a washer and a little o ring just don't know in what order they go in.
So, i had my 1986 virago xv700 with a double Hitachi HSC40 carburetor, sitting foe 7-8 years. Needless to say what happened to the carbs. After cleaning everything (my first time) parts did not look too good but I reassembled everything and reinstalled it. The right carb (as I’m sitting on the bike) was leaking gas internally. Bought 2 rebuild kit which comes with 3 different main jets (#124, 128 and 132). Assumed that each carb used the same size. Could not read old jets so i went by hole size and installed 2 #132. Later found an online manual that actually says the #1 carb should have a #128 while a #132 goes in the #2 carb. Can anyone tell me which is the #1 carb? I was assuming that the #1 carb is the one going to the front cylinder, but somewhere else in the manual it lists #1 and the word left in parentheses.
Also, regarding the pilot screw, another UA-cam video says that a tapered screw adjusts fuel flow, while a stepped screw adjust air flow. My virago xv700 has a stepped screw. Is it correct that it adjusts air flow?
My diaphragm was almost melted or squished in the carb when I tried taking them both out. Where it rests on there. Anyway it got destroyed getting it out. Had to take a razor blade to detach it. Am I able to buy a new diaphragm just the black rubber part? Also what size would that be?
If not late, I believe you can. Try this link on ebay: . 2 X Carburettor Diaphragm Membrane Fits YAMAHA VIRAGO HITACHI HSC40 XV. There may be several prices.
