Active melody is the only channel that offers a real course, both musical and educational. Many thanks, you are an excellent teacher. Hello from France.
Great lesson! I love how you break down the minor pentatonic blues and make it so accessible. The tips on switching scales for the D chord are fantastic. Can’t wait for part two! Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks Brian, I had a 'l8ghtbulb' moment when you were talking about the 'gospel move', jammering.on the major third then to its 4 chord. I recently learnt about harmonising the mixolydian scale, and this is why the gospel move works on all the dom 7th chords...learning the guitar keeps blowing my mind 🤯
Another nice lesson Brian. Enjoying on the Active Melody site. Your bends and vibrato are so right on, to emulate that in the lesson is worth the price of admission alone. I like the position shifts, very helpful. I've learned to play the changes and hit the right notes from you as much as anybody. I play a lot and have many subscriptions to many sites and channels but I still find I use and learn from you more than anybody. ThoughI tend to migrate towards to more flashy shreddy stuff at times, your compositions ground me and have made me a better player. Less is more, quality over quantity is an actual thing. Thank you
I have been waiting for a lesson that uses an anchor note. Similar to what you are doing in the beginning of the lesson with the D note (2nd string 3rd fret) so thankful for this lesson. I have been trying to work on soloing but I had not got the hang of the anchor note until now. At least a little better understanding. Thank you so much. I know this lesson was more on call and response but so far this is what I am getting out of it and I'm thankful. Been a satisfied member for 3 years now. Thanks again Brian.
Another terrific fun lesson lovely guitar love these lessons you can really go off the grid , it's like you give us a road map to follow but there is always back roads to drive through and come back , you make guitar learning fun Brian cheers
Hey Brian, one request to you. Can you make similar leasson for the other minor pentatonic positions as well, that would greatly help me given given how much I take inspiration from your playing. I'm sure others would benefit as well.
Awesome, Brian, as usual! It so happens that I've been playing a lot of stuff like this lately, cuz I'm working on my improv skills, and trying to cement the relationships of the pentatonic positions to the chords, also trying to use different chord shapes to create variety, once again using the CAGED grips/shapes. (All of which I've learned from you!) So, having new material from you is perfect! Thanks, always...! 🤪 👌👍 P.S: Love the gee-tar!
It's sounds a bit like Heartbeat Hotel. Or maybe that's what I'm hearing anyway. Lots of practical and useful things here to learn and apply. Thank you Brian!
Alright Brian all your lessons are great, but when you done the deep dive on the caged system with all the scales dominant 7th etc this all completely makes sense I reference this like a good book regularly and would say to other members to do the same honestly it's all there...
@@activemelodyIm looking into joining as a premium member. As well as tab, is the music written in standard notation? Ive been learning classical since lockdown and I dont want to lose that skill) thanks

I concur, this channel does a good mix of teaching you solid guitar skills and incorporating theory with creating music.

lots of fun,
When you say "go to its 4 chord" does that also work for minor chords? Thanks.
🔥🙏✍️
How many tries does it take you to record a track perfectly? Are they any goof takes?
Yes - of course!
Is it possible to buy single lessons?
unfortunately i don't sell individual lessons, just subscription access to all
Eric Clapton?
Thanks for not using bar chords. Nobody likes bar chords. 😇
C’est très ennuyeux
