Hey Dylan maybe consider trying a shot trainer or accubow as well. Both of those tools absolutely help you work on trigger work! keep up the great work!

I have the beginner Accubow that has been good but I will definitely be looking into a better shot trainer!

One thing I noticed is that on several of your shots, your finger actually comes off the trigger a couple of times before you shoot. I don't know if it's just that you're trying to settle into the right finger position on the trigger or if you are having trouble committing to the pull-through process. You are doing good work though, and I can't wait to see the hunting videos

I noticed that as well about my finger. I want to do a day a week where I blank bale and watch how I do. Definitely need a lot more consistent practice. And thanks! I am just waiting for it to warm up so I can start small game hunting again!

Try out the Carter Like Mike 2. Lots of tension adjustment and the trigger is set a litter further back so it is easier to hook your finger around it.

Its funny that you mentioned the carter release. Three days after I made the video, I went to a banquet and won a Carter Quickie 1. Now I just need to dial that in with more reps💪💪

Look into the nock on archery backstrap releases.
    There’s a few videos here on UA-cam.
You will be able to accomplish exactly what you’re trying to do with it.
I have one.every time the shot goes off I have the same exact thought,”I absolutely love this release”

I actually watched a lot of videos after from Dudley and then Joel Turner on better techniques so I will be using them more this week!!

Review tour shots and watch your index finger, some of the shots your index finder is much more relaxed and just before the shot you curl your finger through the trigger. Other shots your index finger is already in place and the pull through releases the trigger. Obviously the later is better. Thanks for the video, im working on the same thing as we speak!

Yeah my wife calls the later "witch hands" cause it looks like I am about to cast a spell lol. And thank you for pointing that out to me!!

Shots #6 and #11 looked really good. You kept your hand up and didn't go limp-wrist at the release of the arrow, and you pulled straight back towards your elbow. Just keep your hand up at the shot and not let it flex downward to initiate the trigger (like shot #14) or let your hand drop down. That shot in pitch dark was perfect, by the way. You know why? Because you weren't focused on the target and switched your focus onto your form and release. We do this at point blank on the target - it's called 'blank baling'. You draw back on a target from 3 - 4 feet, close your eyes and just focus on the release. Your elbow came back straight pulling your finger with it, and you didn't drop your hand at the wrist. If you can repeat that shot from now on, you would be good to go. Much improvement and looking very good!!

I appreciate that! I have been trying different things, and I think that this video was good for me to watch and get feedback from you and others

Nope!! Almost all of the guys at my facility use the same release as mine, the carter quickie!

If you're up for trying something new, I've found that running my release very short and using my middle finger on the trigger works very well for me

I have thought about trying to see how it would be with my middle finger. Maybe I will give that a go next time I go to the range!

Watch each one and focus on the index. Right before each shot there is a twitch. The travel in that trigger is causing anticipation. Try a release that can have the travel adjusted out of it.
Try a T.R.U Ball Centerline or a Carter 2 shot. Both great release with crisp triggers.

They funny thing is, the Saturday after I filmed this, I won a Carter Quickie 1 from a raffle and have been really working well for me. I just need to spend more time getting out of that twitch

I think I will see if Carter has some releases I could try out at their shop. I actually work just down the road from them and I stopped in the other and met Jerry which was cool

Check out elkshape under the video about trigger panic. Go to the very end of the video and the guy shows a really good technique for these trigger releases. I tried it yesterday at the range and instead of curling in your other fingers, keep them spread out flat and then focus on pulling through. My shots were way better

That was a great suggestion of a video. I just watched it and a couple of other videos from Joel Turner and I will be practicing some of those techniques next week
