Keep in mind that The Dredge isn't simply a mass of amalgamated body parts, it's a collective of ALL of the dark thoughts and feelings of those it's assimilated. This includes anybody who falls victim to it in the trials. It may not feel any sort of emotion, but is like a storage for it.
Would make sense, it’s hinted in the lore that the Entity created the Dredge and is raising it like a parent would a child. This can be seen in the Tome cutscene “Happy Birthday Evil” (if that’s what the scenes called) just before the dredges release. Even further evidence can be seen in the mori where Dredge uses two organic spikes to pull the survivor into its mass. These spikes are very similar to the entities spikes, both originating from fog and pulling survivors into their mist. I imagine the Entity either plans to raise it to become another entity to govern its own realm (as it is shown in the lore that other entities exist) or it is fattening Dredge with emotions so that it can consume the dredge and sate its hunger. It could chose to do this in a situation in which the realm comes into conflict with another to fuel its powers or it is saving dredge for a time when it runs out of emotion to feed on.
Like, Basically having all the negative emotions the Entity could ever want and having complete ease getting it as I imagine the Dredge's mere presence in a trial is enough to feed the Entity as it 'causes pain' even without survivors for all the trapped souls it has within it.
Hillbilly's tome elevated his base lore in so many ways. It showed us that he did have an "education" in the form of television, the local police were aware of his existence and indulged in his spectacle rather than do their jobs, and his only sense of worth was violence. As demonic as it is, the Entity is the only true parent Max ever had and you can't be mad at his loyalty for it. Also, it's neat that in one of the Legion comics, it's revealed that his story is a movie series in their universe. Similar to TCM. It's a nice little detail.
Another part for the pig is that Amanda is shown to in genral be a very emotional person either getting overly angry or breaking down in tears every movie she shows up in, and it's a main part of her character that her emotions often get in the way of the jigsaw games, so Amanda probably feeds the entity a ton herself while the ticking of the timer and Amandas stealth makes the survivors also give off more emotions.

And if nobody has noticed pinhead actually sends the box out for survivors to find rather than the entity doing it which means his power is not entity driven but rather his power is all him. And then his mori where he directly rips a survivor from the realm, so to clear up any confusion no pinhead is not trapped in the entities realm. Now I hear you asking, “why does he hook people?” Well it’s all a game to him, he knows the hooks cause as much suffering as they can and not to mention they aren’t really that different from the labyrinth anyway, he’s simply having fun then leaves. So no pinhead is not trapped here and doesn’t obey the entity, he just simply has fun
Chucky went into the fog on his own accord. He sees Andy go in, pauses, and then decides to follow not letting his "only chance to go back to normal" get away. Once he arrives though, he gets a kick out of it. He has unlimited victims and no consequence. Its a personal heaven for him. He was chosen because The Entity fully understands all the different motivations of Chucky, as it exists at all times and places. It knows that eventually Chucky gives up on Andy and embraces being a killer doll, so it just took the most opportune method of obtaining Chucky and knew he wouldn't want to leave. I think people tend to forget The Entity is an omnipotent being and doesn't need to follow the rules of time as we do.
Also a bit of his completion anxiety can be argued too because Andy is never taken into the realm, which means Chucky will never get to complete his goal of killing someone who got away from him
This! The devs literally said they will never have children in the game cuz its simply too cruel. The Entity simply tricked Chucky by surrounding Andy with the fog but not taking him fooling Chucky to enter and eventually just do what you said would happen.@@salt5537
@@DestinyKillerLegal-wise, they couldn’t get Andy (we’ve only ever seen him as an adult in the last two movies and the TV series) because the rights that were licensed into the game were directly from Child’s Play 2, Bride of Chucky, and Seed of Chucky (we probably are getting Glenn/Glenda, also known as G/G, at some point) so that meant no Andy unfortunately. Lore-wise, Chucky was taken during the events of Child’s Play 2’s ending where The Entity lured him into its realm by causing an copycat Andy, just as it’s done for several other killers it took.
I like to headcanon that the mind flayer discovered that the Entity stole one of it's demogorgons and took him back, but after a long discussion, they came to equal footing and the Mind Flayer allowed the Entity to bring the demogorgon back. As for Pyramid Head, I simply believe he found a way to break in, seeing new opportunities to punish other for their wrong doings, even if some of those may be innocent, he kills them to punish the ones who may not be. For example: Pyramid Head killing Maria multiple times, even though she was just another manifestation just like him to remind James of his sins.
With Dredge I reckon it’s a possibility that the the darkness itself doesn’t have emotions but the victims inside still have some sentience but unable to do anything for themselves.
I think by Pyramid head he got taken BECAUSE the entity knew that most Survivors had something hidden like Dwight where he poisened his boss and that would also give Pyramid head a reason to stay too. But at the end of the day most of the Killers are there because of there Emotions.
I got the feeling that the Entity kinda screwed Chucky over. Tormenting him with the ghostly apparition of his former self, and judging by his lore, with Andy. It seems like it kinda fakes taking Andy (or really takes him but stores him for later when he's grown up enough), telling Chucky something like "I have what you desire. Sacrifice enough survivors to me and you will be rewarded" As long as the Entity keeps saying Charles that he did not kill enough yet, it will keep him going. Any maybe, at some day at the future, the entity will use the old and forbidden ritual of "Aqui-rin-a-Lis-Cens" to reward the Not-So-Good-Guy. We'll see....
It should have been a chapter tbh. Andy could have come since he’s grown and Istg but there is no map since they are moving everywhere. Unless they make the asylum but we already have Hawkins so no point in a remap
Chucky seems to be enjoying himself regardless of Andy’s presence. Of course he does it to get a new body but he is having a blast. It’s like the entity was telling Chucky to go play and he would be rewarded with a chocolate cake.
I think in Wraith's case, if he hadn't been taken by the Entity, he may have ended his own life as penance for his unknowing role in the deaths of hundreds of people as well as his guilt for not ringing the bell as a child. In a way, I think the Entity saved him but for its own nefarious purposes, of course.
I have to disagree about the survivors not having the kind of guilt that the Executioner would be interested in. Sure, James Sunderland's secret desire for punishment brought it to life, but Cheryl's lore goes out of its way to establish her guilt for her adoptive father's death at the same time the Executioner was invited to the realm--I don't think it was accidental. And in the release trailer, we see the two of them in the same place, which could indicate that Cheryl's guilt was what drew him to her. There is no shortage of guilt among the other survivors, either, like Yun-Jin's over the Trickster, Jake's about the argument with his father, David Tapp's over the course of chasing Jigsaw, etc. Any one of the Resident Evil characters would also endear to the Executioner's sadism, too. I'm sure you also know about survivor's guilt, which Laurie, Gabriel, Ripley, Ash, Bill, and many others definitely have. They're all guilty in varying degrees (with the possible exception of Kate), so the Trials would be a punishment buffet for Pyramid Head, which would inspire a great deal of thrill in him. Other than this, I think you're spot on.
I'd imagine Pyramid Head is chosen as he is a Punisher of the Damned. If we got by the DbD version, not just the SH2 version, he's mostly there to torment people for what they've gone through, regardless of them being the victim or the problem. It's kinda something a lotta people don't get about Pyramid Head as that's what he is in SH2, a tormentor to James's guilt and representation of what he did. So basically for each survivor, he is something different. Dwight and Kate he could be a tormentor playing on their fears of no one getting out, Ash, Bill, Chris and Jill not being able to protect or save anyone or stop their respective threats, Nea, Ace, and Tapp for what they did and DIDN'T do. It's pretty much he sees what haunts or they beat themselves over and APPS it to 11
I think that another factor for the entity choosing killers is how efficient they are at hunting and killing. as most of these seem to have some skill at hunting/killing people so it also chooses killers by their skills!
To say that Sadako got saved from the well is questionable, her lore implies that she went into the fog at the time when the first movie starts. While Yoichis lore implies that the first 2 movies still happened. In the first movie we hear that all her first victims died at the same time after initially watching the tape together, meaning that she came out of all of their TVs simultaneously. From all that given information, we can deduce that while she is going after cursed survivors in the realm, she is still cursing people in her world. That would also mean that while she went to the realm to do her stuff, her body remained in the well for the first movie until Yoichis mother found it.
@@thegamingkirby8696 well yeah, you could say that there is always the same amount of Sadakos with a shared consciousness as there are cursed people that are about to die. We know that she still thinks since she asked Yoichi directly why he was the only one that got saved.
The Entity takes survivors and killers from different timelines/universes, so they might have just been taken from similar but separate timelines. That being said, given that removing Sadako's body from the well didn't do anything in the movies, and the well itself appears in the Entity's realm in the lobby and her cursed tapes, I really don't think she was "saved" from it. By the time the Entity took her, she'd already become an Onryo, and was past saving. Regardless of where her real body is, the well appears as part of her curse.
@@SupaMikaCh yeah that's the second possibility, but i'd think that it's more likely that she's just in both places at the same time since that's a feat we know that she already had. Also having Yoichi have a one sided rivalry with a Sadako from a different timeline that has no idea who he is would be kinda dumb. I think people just got the misconception that she's bound to the well like Kayako is bound to her house even tho Sadakos influence clearly reaches far outside the well. Her well is significant, not because she's trapped, but because she died there. The tape shows things that were significant in her life: the sea which is where she came from, her mother and the well which is where she died. People just get too hung up about the well part.
as a sadako main i like to also think she agreed to enter the realm because her biggest fear is being forgotten. she knows if she enters the realm survivors will always watch and spread her tape so her story will always be told. not to mention her connection with yoichi although i’m not sure who was chosen first.
From what I've seen with the lore, the entity doesn't convince it simply takes. The White Eye (Entity Touched) theory explains every white eyed killer in the game. The theory states that the white eyed killers are being manipulated by the entity. For example: in his lore wraith only killed once. He killed his boss when found out he had been party to the disposal of bodies for the mob. When he learned this he killed his boss. He has no motivation to kill survivors so the entity manipulates him into seeing every survivor as his boss. So he is forever killing his boss. Spirit sees he father, and so on and so forth.
I think part of Pyramid Heads case is that he's the embodiment of James emotions which in turn could be a good snack for the entity considering that as long as James has guilt, Pyramid Head will exist, so long as Pyramid Head exists, the entity gets free emotions just from them existing.
I feel like saying the entity feeds on positive emotions like hope or happiness is odd when more likely it's that the entity needs "hope" in the realm to create despair which is it's real food because without hope of escape survivors would give up and loss there despair and become husks, the entity needs to give illusions of hope so that survivors can be kicked down to extreme lows giving the entity much more consistent and concentrated food that's how I've seen it at least
I feel like the entity chooses the killers by how they kill or hurt the survivors as well. She wants a variety of weapons and techniques. For example why legion? Well they are amateurs, I bet the lack of technique hurts much more than a precise fast kill from for example Ghostface or Pig

After all, he's one of the few ones that can break the Entity's creations (his power cuts the map) and left it starving (sending the survivors to the cage instead of the hook, or directly cutting them). Interesting theory about Pyramid Head 2: He was chosen together with Heather because both of them are "champions" in their stories. Pyramid Head managed to make James overcome his guilt, and Hearher managed to defeat the cult that wanted to use her. Interesting theory about Pyramid Head number 3: This one is quite nuts. That is *not* the original Pyramid Head...but James Sunderland himself. The Entity snatched him, saw in his mind and liked what it saw. And so decided to transform the body and mind of James into an imitation of the scariest monster of his memories. None of this theories are mine. This are just the best ones that I saw some time ago.
I actually would say Myers generates some kind of emotion despite his embodiment of evil status. Especially given the way his lore is phrased, whatever metaphorical darkness force given human form or whatever he could be, he is still a human and the lore seems to interpret that he simply has an impulse to desire that can only be sated with murder, made worse by his time in the mental institution. If you consider that impulse to be emotion, it’s actually likely one of the strongest single sources in the realm. It’s the basis of evil within after all, which, when he’s reminded of that original kill he once went pretty out of his way to recreate, grows to the point of overpowering the rules of the trial and killing survivors outright. Granted, you can consider that speculation even within the context of the game lore, but still he likely contributes a sizable bit of emotion of his own even if it’s like mostly the one kind of murderous pleasure and sometimes anger at getting wood to the face.
True. Also Michael in the OG/COT-timeline (clearly is from that timeline, since there were no talks for a new trilogy back then when he came to DBD) did already show emotions like in H5's final act. Also if we go by that or the 1979 novelization of Halloween, he is cursed/possessed by an evil spirit/demon, which therefore means that the evil inside him is the cause for his killings and we don't know if he himself wants it or only the spirit/demon wants it. So he clearly could have an emotional crisis that we just can almost never see, because he doesn'zt show those emotions openly.

The Cenobite also could be from the original movie set where in the end the cube was destroyed via a giant space station that could transform into a cube itself. In this case they simply get to do there job again
So, as a Knight main, I feel like I have to weigh in a bit on Tarhos and his goons. Thinking on it, I'm pretty sure the guards directly generate a *lot* more emotion than stoically-disdainful Tarhos himself does. Sander seems fairly simple, and I get the impression that he's both angry and scared in the realm and takes it out the way he knows how and that does seem to be a bit fun for him, which is violence. Durkos is a bit more aware and thus afraid in a different way, but reacts pretty similarly to Sander: he funnels his distress into rage and takes it out on the survivors, though he may not enjoy it as much, hence the frustrated yells and growls as he hunts. Alejandro, meanwhile, is just having the time of his life waving a perpetually red-hot branding iron at people. And when they fight with Tarhos, they all get a massive surge of confidence and hope from their leader's presence. Tarhos is what keeps them in the realm on pretty much every level, and in a way he sort of cultivates their emotions as much as they all cultivate the survivors' emotions.

I honestly think the dredge is a smaller part of the entity. Like it’s got very similar stories. A unknown entity worshiped by a cult that thrives on emotions that seems to enjoy violence and toying with its victims. Like the dredge feels like either a herald of the entity or just how the entity chooses to manifest when it needs to get physically involved
Executioner seems like one of the killers that The Entity brought in so that way he's not constantly like "God, I'm running low on killers" when he is finished with his toys. He's just pretty much always gonna end up being there because he is so imposing.
One theory on why Pyramid head is in the trials from a lore perspective is to punish the entity. One of the things about the entity is that it feeds on emotions, particularily of the hooked survivors. when looking into the silent hill realm, it saw the executioner, which made it able to invade the entity's realms. The entity, being nigh invincible, can't be stopped by most methods that pyramid head would typically be able to do.... so how does Pyramid head try to punish the entity? starvation. starve the entity of the emotions from the hooks, and take the survivors to cages instead... therefore robbing the entity of food. Or something like that.
to be honest, I personally thought that there was much more going on inside the entity than they show us. at least that explains why there are almost as many maniacs as syurves when maniacs only help feed the entity rather than feeding it themselves
The two I think would be the favorite for the entity would be Kazan (the oni) and Anna (the huntress) because Anna would be grieving her mother for years on end, on the day when her mother died and the day of her mothers birthday while with Kazan having rage and possibly the entity altering his vision to see each survivor as his father or the monks that called him oni-yamaoka
Freddy actually wasn't chosen by the entity, he was just unwillingly along for the ride. It's even explained in his and Quentin's lore. Quentin's extrem anger and hatred towards Freddy caught the entity's attention and made them take him to the realm (it's even speculated if the entity took him to become a killer with that strong negative emotions like hate and anger) and since Freddy was inside Quentin's dreams when he was taken, Freddy got taken too, without the entity knowing it.
See I feel a little differently about Skull Merchant. I think the entity actually manipulated Skull Merchant through her father when it saw the potential for emotional food from her violent outbursts. When it realised it could use her emotional state, it put the ideas for the Skull Merchant in her father's head and pushed them to the forefront in order to create the idea on paper and then, when it was finally time, pushed her father to leave ao she would have the emotional connection to him through that manga. From there, it was just a waiting game until she could be brought to the realm.

I think the reason the entity took micheal was because of his emotions of appreciation. He is always looking at his knife in aw every time he swings, even in the lobby he looks at it so I think that extreme appreciation is why he was taken not being extra scary because there are obviously more scary looking killers than Micheal even though it pains me to say it
I think you forgot about the most obvious and practical reason some of these killers were chosen: Skill. A witness who observed Michael Myers in the Fog described him as having a "natural grasp of the hunt" and that "he doesn't appear as someone who came to this realm unwillingly." Some of these killers are naturally suited to fulfill the Entity's trials. Hunting, harming and hooking survivors. Michael is incredibly malevolent with a singular desire to bring death to others. He also possesses a great deal of self-control and he's more aware of his surroundings and circumstances than anyone realizes, except for Dr. Loomis. He waited patiently and planned his escape just before his fate would be decided when he turned 21. As for Nemesis, he's already a bio weapon programmed to take orders and hunt down his targets. With the Xenomorph, the trials fall in line perfectly with its natural instincts: Hunt down prey, capture and then immobilize them.

I got the feeling that the Entity kinda screwed Chucky over. Tormenting him with the ghostly apparition of his former self, and judging by his lore, with Andy. It seems like it kinda fakes taking Andy (or really takes him but stores him for later when he's grown up enough), telling Chucky something like "I have what you desire. Sacrifice enough survivors to me and you will be rewarded" As long as the Entity keeps saying Charles that he did not kill enough yet, it will keep him going.
Any maybe, at some day at the future, the entity will use the old and forbidden ritual of "Aqui-rin-a-Lis-Cens" to reward the Not-So-Good-Guy. We'll see....

Chucky seems to be enjoying himself regardless of Andy’s presence. Of course he does it to get a new body but he is having a blast. It’s like the entity was telling Chucky to go play and he would be rewarded with a chocolate cake.
I think in Wraith's case, if he hadn't been taken by the Entity, he may have ended his own life as penance for his unknowing role in the deaths of hundreds of people as well as his guilt for not ringing the bell as a child. In a way, I think the Entity saved him but for its own nefarious purposes, of course.

I have to disagree about the survivors not having the kind of guilt that the Executioner would be interested in. Sure, James Sunderland's secret desire for punishment brought it to life, but Cheryl's lore goes out of its way to establish her guilt for her adoptive father's death at the same time the Executioner was invited to the realm--I don't think it was accidental. And in the release trailer, we see the two of them in the same place, which could indicate that Cheryl's guilt was what drew him to her. There is no shortage of guilt among the other survivors, either, like Yun-Jin's over the Trickster, Jake's about the argument with his father, David Tapp's over the course of chasing Jigsaw, etc. Any one of the Resident Evil characters would also endear to the Executioner's sadism, too.
I'm sure you also know about survivor's guilt, which Laurie, Gabriel, Ripley, Ash, Bill, and many others definitely have. They're all guilty in varying degrees (with the possible exception of Kate), so the Trials would be a punishment buffet for Pyramid Head, which would inspire a great deal of thrill in him.

I'd imagine Pyramid Head is chosen as he is a Punisher of the Damned. If we got by the DbD version, not just the SH2 version, he's mostly there to torment people for what they've gone through, regardless of them being the victim or the problem. It's kinda something a lotta people don't get about Pyramid Head as that's what he is in SH2, a tormentor to James's guilt and representation of what he did.
So basically for each survivor, he is something different. Dwight and Kate he could be a tormentor playing on their fears of no one getting out, Ash, Bill, Chris and Jill not being able to protect or save anyone or stop their respective threats, Nea, Ace, and Tapp for what they did and DIDN'T do. It's pretty much he sees what haunts or they beat themselves over and APPS it to 11

So the entity is basically an eldritch Business man looking for employees and the killers lives were pretty much just interviews.
I think that another factor for the entity choosing killers is how efficient they are at hunting and killing. as most of these seem to have some skill at hunting/killing people so it also chooses killers by their skills!

To say that Sadako got saved from the well is questionable, her lore implies that she went into the fog at the time when the first movie starts. While Yoichis lore implies that the first 2 movies still happened.
In the first movie we hear that all her first victims died at the same time after initially watching the tape together, meaning that she came out of all of their TVs simultaneously. From all that given information, we can deduce that while she is going after cursed survivors in the realm, she is still cursing people in her world.
That would also mean that while she went to the realm to do her stuff, her body remained in the well for the first movie until Yoichis mother found it.
Perhaps she's an entity all on her own with the video tape? I mean she is a ghost/curse after all and not just a single person.

We know that she still thinks since she asked Yoichi directly why he was the only one that got saved.
The Entity takes survivors and killers from different timelines/universes, so they might have just been taken from similar but separate timelines. That being said, given that removing Sadako's body from the well didn't do anything in the movies, and the well itself appears in the Entity's realm in the lobby and her cursed tapes, I really don't think she was "saved" from it. By the time the Entity took her, she'd already become an Onryo, and was past saving. Regardless of where her real body is, the well appears as part of her curse.
@@SupaMikaCh yeah that's the second possibility, but i'd think that it's more likely that she's just in both places at the same time since that's a feat we know that she already had. Also having Yoichi have a one sided rivalry with a Sadako from a different timeline that has no idea who he is would be kinda dumb.
I think people just got the misconception that she's bound to the well like Kayako is bound to her house even tho Sadakos influence clearly reaches far outside the well.
Her well is significant, not because she's trapped, but because she died there. The tape shows things that were significant in her life: the sea which is where she came from, her mother and the well which is where she died. People just get too hung up about the well part.

as a sadako main i like to also think she agreed to enter the realm because her biggest fear is being forgotten. she knows if she enters the realm survivors will always watch and spread her tape so her story will always be told.

From what I've seen with the lore, the entity doesn't convince it simply takes.
The White Eye (Entity Touched) theory explains every white eyed killer in the game.
The theory states that the white eyed killers are being manipulated by the entity.
For example: in his lore wraith only killed once. He killed his boss when found out he had been party to the disposal of bodies for the mob. When he learned this he killed his boss.
He has no motivation to kill survivors so the entity manipulates him into seeing every survivor as his boss. So he is forever killing his boss.
Spirit sees he father, and so on and so forth.

I think part of Pyramid Heads case is that he's the embodiment of James emotions which in turn could be a good snack for the entity considering that as long as James has guilt, Pyramid Head will exist, so long as Pyramid Head exists, the entity gets free emotions just from them existing.

I feel like saying the entity feeds on positive emotions like hope or happiness is odd when more likely it's that the entity needs "hope" in the realm to create despair which is it's real food because without hope of escape survivors would give up and loss there despair and become husks, the entity needs to give illusions of hope so that survivors can be kicked down to extreme lows giving the entity much more consistent and concentrated food that's how I've seen it at least

Interesting theory about Pyramid Head 1: He's in the Entity's realm punishing the Entity itself. After all, he's one of the few ones that can break the Entity's creations (his power cuts the map) and left it starving (sending the survivors to the cage instead of the hook, or directly cutting them).
Interesting theory about Pyramid Head 2: He was chosen together with Heather because both of them are "champions" in their stories. Pyramid Head managed to make James overcome his guilt, and Hearher managed to defeat the cult that wanted to use her.
Interesting theory about Pyramid Head number 3: This one is quite nuts. That is *not* the original Pyramid Head...but James Sunderland himself. The Entity snatched him, saw in his mind and liked what it saw. And so decided to transform the body and mind of James into an imitation of the scariest monster of his memories.
None of this theories are mine. This are just the best ones that I saw some time ago.

I actually would say Myers generates some kind of emotion despite his embodiment of evil status. Especially given the way his lore is phrased, whatever metaphorical darkness force given human form or whatever he could be, he is still a human and the lore seems to interpret that he simply has an impulse to desire that can only be sated with murder, made worse by his time in the mental institution. If you consider that impulse to be emotion, it’s actually likely one of the strongest single sources in the realm. It’s the basis of evil within after all, which, when he’s reminded of that original kill he once went pretty out of his way to recreate, grows to the point of overpowering the rules of the trial and killing survivors outright.
Granted, you can consider that speculation even within the context of the game lore, but still he likely contributes a sizable bit of emotion of his own even if it’s like mostly the one kind of murderous pleasure and sometimes anger at getting wood to the face.
True. Also Michael in the OG/COT-timeline (clearly is from that timeline, since there were no talks for a new trilogy back then when he came to DBD) did already show emotions like in H5's final act.
Also if we go by that or the 1979 novelization of Halloween, he is cursed/possessed by an evil spirit/demon, which therefore means that the evil inside him is the cause for his killings and we don't know if he himself wants it or only the spirit/demon wants it. So he clearly could have an emotional crisis that we just can almost never see, because he doesn'zt show those emotions openly.

So, as a Knight main, I feel like I have to weigh in a bit on Tarhos and his goons. Thinking on it, I'm pretty sure the guards directly generate a *lot* more emotion than stoically-disdainful Tarhos himself does. Sander seems fairly simple, and I get the impression that he's both angry and scared in the realm and takes it out the way he knows how and that does seem to be a bit fun for him, which is violence. Durkos is a bit more aware and thus afraid in a different way, but reacts pretty similarly to Sander: he funnels his distress into rage and takes it out on the survivors, though he may not enjoy it as much, hence the frustrated yells and growls as he hunts. Alejandro, meanwhile, is just having the time of his life waving a perpetually red-hot branding iron at people. And when they fight with Tarhos, they all get a massive surge of confidence and hope from their leader's presence. Tarhos is what keeps them in the realm on pretty much every level, and in a way he sort of cultivates their emotions as much as they all cultivate the survivors' emotions.

I honestly think the dredge is a smaller part of the entity. Like it’s got very similar stories. A unknown entity worshiped by a cult that thrives on emotions that seems to enjoy violence and toying with its victims. Like the dredge feels like either a herald of the entity or just how the entity chooses to manifest when it needs to get physically involved
dredge is seen as a icon of negative emotions, so that may be a part of it.

Executioner seems like one of the killers that The Entity brought in so that way he's not constantly like "God, I'm running low on killers" when he is finished with his toys. He's just pretty much always gonna end up being there because he is so imposing.

One theory on why Pyramid head is in the trials from a lore perspective is to punish the entity.
One of the things about the entity is that it feeds on emotions, particularily of the hooked survivors. when looking into the silent hill realm, it saw the executioner, which made it able to invade the entity's realms.
The entity, being nigh invincible, can't be stopped by most methods that pyramid head would typically be able to do.... so how does Pyramid head try to punish the entity?
starvation. starve the entity of the emotions from the hooks, and take the survivors to cages instead... therefore robbing the entity of food.

to be honest, I personally thought that there was much more going on inside the entity than they show us. at least that explains why there are almost as many maniacs as syurves when maniacs only help feed the entity rather than feeding it themselves
The two I think would be the favorite for the entity would be Kazan (the oni) and Anna (the huntress) because Anna would be grieving her mother for years on end, on the day when her mother died and the day of her mothers birthday while with Kazan having rage and possibly the entity altering his vision to see each survivor as his father or the monks that called him oni-yamaoka

Freddy actually wasn't chosen by the entity, he was just unwillingly along for the ride. It's even explained in his and Quentin's lore.
Quentin's extrem anger and hatred towards Freddy caught the entity's attention and made them take him to the realm (it's even speculated if the entity took him to become a killer with that strong negative emotions like hate and anger) and since Freddy was inside Quentin's dreams when he was taken, Freddy got taken too, without the entity knowing it.

See I feel a little differently about Skull Merchant.
I think the entity actually manipulated Skull Merchant through her father when it saw the potential for emotional food from her violent outbursts. When it realised it could use her emotional state, it put the ideas for the Skull Merchant in her father's head and pushed them to the forefront in order to create the idea on paper and then, when it was finally time, pushed her father to leave ao she would have the emotional connection to him through that manga. From there, it was just a waiting game until she could be brought to the realm.

I think the reason the entity took micheal was because of his emotions of appreciation. He is always looking at his knife in aw every time he swings, even in the lobby he looks at it so I think that extreme appreciation is why he was taken not being extra scary because there are obviously more scary looking killers than Micheal even though it pains me to say it

I think you forgot about the most obvious and practical reason some of these killers were chosen: Skill.
A witness who observed Michael Myers in the Fog described him as having a "natural grasp of the hunt" and that "he doesn't appear as someone who came to this realm unwillingly."
Some of these killers are naturally suited to fulfill the Entity's trials. Hunting, harming and hooking survivors.
Michael is incredibly malevolent with a singular desire to bring death to others. He also possesses a great deal of self-control and he's more aware of his surroundings and circumstances than anyone realizes, except for Dr. Loomis. He waited patiently and planned his escape just before his fate would be decided when he turned 21.
As for Nemesis, he's already a bio weapon programmed to take orders and hunt down his targets.
With the Xenomorph, the trials fall in line perfectly with its natural instincts: Hunt down prey, capture and then immobilize them.
