- An early start on a cold crisp morning to video The Christmas Cheshireman with 45596 Bahamas.
I decided to film the train climbing Llanvihangel after its departure from Abergavenny station.
This was the first leg of the rail tour with 6233 Duchess of Sutherland returning the train later in the evening.
Bahamas looked great as it stormed the bank but like most rail tours these days it was accompanied by a diesel.
On this occasion it was 47804, which was also working hard pushing the load up the bank.
Its very disappointing to see this as Bahamas could have pulled this train on its own.
However, the sight of a Jubilee working up hill in South Wales was wonderful. What a fab sound!
Great video Geriant of Bahamas climbing the back . Brilliant performance by her even with rear help. Nice lot of exhaust. Kind regards C&A 😊
Thank you much appreciated. You cant beat steam in the winter months
Very cool locomotive and beautiful carriages😃⤴️⤴️Wonderful scenery😉👍️✨Thank you for sharing the excellent video :)
My pleasure & thank you for your kind comments, Geraint
Nice one geraint and yeah Bahamas handed it’s train over to the duchess after arriving into Chester
Superb shots Geraint , light and exhaust to die for 🎥
The conditions were perfect for a great exhaust. Thanks for your comments, Geraint
Great capture Ger, with that cold Autumnal air producing a wonderful exhaust...Best wishes...Bob
Wasn't it just, great exhaust. Winter steam at its best. Geraint
