Een Landjuweel is niet zomaar een festival. Al in de vijftiende en zestiende eeuw waren landjuwelen ontmoetingsplekken voor schrijvers, toneelspelers, dichters, dansers troubadours en decorbouwers en natuurlijk was er ook publiek. De tijden veranderen. In Ruigoord vervagen de grenzen tussen publiek en kunstenaar. Het is een participanten-festival waar iedereen deel uitmaakt van het verhaal.
A Landjuweel (jewel of the land) is not just a festival. As early as the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries Landjuwelen were meeting places for writers, actors, poets, dancers, troubadours and set designers, and of course there was also an audience. Times are changing. In Ruigoord the boundaries between the public and the artist are blurring. It is a participant festival where everyone is part of the story.
