Ugliest UI but I'd like to try one, specially for fx6 I wonder if the touch focus works although I heard it doesn't. It would be cool if you could control the fx6 settings via the monitor
Hello, we have the pan to design the new UI for BM7IIDS. You can know how our monitors control FX6 via this video from 0:27 ua-cam.com/video/y9taTUVXGBI/v-deo.html
It appears to have a mechanical power switch, which if so is a winner for me. I hate soft switches, as with Atomos and AndyCine. In temporary power-outtage scenarios, having to manually re-boot equipment is really not ideal.
Hi friend, I am sorry that our monitors now don't support touch focus with Canon cameras. But I will forward your request to the related department. Sorry for the inconveniecne@odet7786
The latest Sony FX30 (and I assume FX 3) firmware update just crippled the Wifi connection to the Portrays LH7P - and according to Portrays this is a Sony issue which they cannot fix on the monitor side. I assume the same problem will unfortunately exist with this new monitor.... thoughts/ideas??
@@PortkeysMonitor Unfortunately EVERY time you turn on the camera or monitor you have to go through the entire pairing process again (it wouldn’t repair to an older connection for me on the FX 30 at least…) including typing in the WiFi password etc- essentially making it useless for any workflow where both the camera and monitor are left on for long periods of time (on a set likely). I loved the monitor and new UI but the lack of a stable connection was a deal breaker for me. I hope this gets solved somehow!
Dear Customer, We appreciate your feedback and know your inconvenience caused by the firmware update of sony cameras I will forward this issue to the technicians.@@GlobalShutterNY
sadly i wont trust portkeys anymore. had one of their 5inch monitors for approx 2 months and it stopped powering on, contacted them and they sent out a replacement, the replacement model often says no signal even when trying different cameras and cables. very dissapointing. have a lilliput one now as that seems to be running perfectly.
Can you guys provide any info about how this monitor or the BM5 performs wirelessly with the Komodo in a high density wifi environment, like at IBC or events or public spaces? I've been using the Red Control app on my iPad with the Komodo and after the recent firmware updates, it has become completely useless in dense wifi environments. Connection constantly drops, freezes, etc.
@@PortkeysMonitor Thank you. I just want to make sure this is a reliable camera control solution for the Red Komodo while filming in high density wifi environments.
Loving these interviews especially with the language barriers, what a champ! 🎉
there is no language barrier. They are speaking English.
@@shem44 really? Seems like English is a second language. But maybe you didn’t notice.
Great interview.
Well, for $899 I expect more and more features from it. I'd rather give additional $100 and get atomos shogun, instead of that.

Dear customer, LH7P can control FX30/FX3 via wifi. Probably you are saying that LH7P can't be automatically connected with FX30/FX3?

Hi friend, sorry about this. Could you give me your email for us to solve this issue?
@@PortkeysMonitor id rather not post my email address publicly in a youtube comment, but thank you anyway :)
The Odyssey 7Q has 4 SDI in and out 8+ years ago
I wish CD continued making monitors with similar functionality and brighter screens. The O7Q was a certified beast, just needed more nits.
@@philscanlan7321 they went for better accuracy with the OLED. It’s amazing that tech hasn’t really caught up to them since.

Hi friend, I never see such feedback. Really thanks for your comment. I will ask the technicians to confirm whether the issue is true.

It would be nice if this monitor could control the Ursa cams through bluetooth.

Man sorry but portkeys has the WORST user interface
Why I won’t buy one
I forgive you
