I love the sounds of these new turbo Honda’s with resonator delete and muffler delete. From the 1.5 turbo accord, 2.0 accord and the type r they sound great!
the better suggestion is to always keep both hands on wheel and only move down your right hand to shift and then return back to wheel. It's something you learn after many years driving a manual.
@@RaijinFK8 Interesting you say that. I did a muffler delete on my 2019 Si pretty early into ownership and the drone was pretty bad for the year I owned it. How "silent" is the drone on the R? I want a legit exhaust system, but I cant afford one for my R lol
idk, I have a Tomei Type D now, and I grew up around very loud cars so I honestly don't even know what drone is anymore lol I do have very sensitive ears, but I'm not bothered at all
I’m the same grew up around jdm cars with massive loud exhausts. Back then they were the bomb! But as I’m a bit older now and have a family things have changed. The oem stock exhaust is way too quiet on the fk8 so anything to give it some noise is a must lol i like the exhaust you have on now 👌
@@fastlane2914 I think the Tomei might be too loud then, a lot of people complain about the drone on it, I honestly don't mind I like hearing the exhaust. You might be better off with an AWE tourin exhaust, only problem with that one is that the clamps can sometimes come loose and you'll have to readjust it from time to time.
Thanks for the heads up. I like the sound of your new exhaust but like you said might be hard to live with for my situation. Seen loads of videos on the AWE touring. All the best to you
I didn't know how to drive stick either when I got the Type R. I had my dad drive it home, and he taught me how from there on. It's not that hard. Most people are just lazy.
Back in the day I had a Pheonix Yellow EK hatch with a B16b and a Tanabe Racing Medallion full exhaust (no cat). Similar sound from the cabin but the sound when vtec engaged was night and day. This new K series motor is just hardly noticeable at all. I blame the state of CA and all it's garbage regulations for messing up modern cars.
@@PuertoRicanThor I grew up in the Philippines so drone to me is not noticeable, since I've been riding Jeepneys my whole life. But I think once the burn in period of the deletes are done, the drone is not bad.
Hmmm, not sure. Once I usually engage a gear, I take my hand off of the shift knob. I try not to keep my hand on the knob too much, and when I do I haven my hand waiting on the knob like you see in the video, I usually just have my hand hovering over it.
Theres a small usb just under the wireless charging platform. Underneath the steering wheel, you have to flip open a socket cover to expose the usb point and then connect a your USB in and then link your phone to use andriod auto or Apple Car play. Or else you could go to settings and link your bluetooth.
I use bluetooth. not a big fan of the screen's placement on this car that's why I don't use apple car place. the screen is too low when I use it as a GPS.
@@RaijinFK8 Yo really? I thought I couldn't connect music through bluetooth. That is why I asked. I found it a little difficult to find out how and thought I could only connect via USB. I'll do some more research, thanks man.
haha, I just been listening to different fk8 pov drives and I also just got done playing the res4 remake so when I heard you breathing that's all that I could think of lmao, keep breathing my dude
My hands aren't resting on the shift knob. It's simple hovering over it. I know resting the hand on the shifter, will mess up my transmission. Don't worry, I know my stuff :)

should have recorded this in a densely populated neighborhood at 3am, for realism
I work 7pm to 7am, no time to record during that time lol
Sick. I’ve been thinking about doing this just to get a bit more sound from it.
Sounds good. Have you thought about disabling the ASC as well to see if you can pick up more 'natural' engine/exhaust sounds?
He just wants the more surround sound feeling
I actually have been wanting to do this, just haven’t had the time to actually do it.

Turn signal leaving the garage...epic
sounds nice 👍
Pretty cool to see people film vids in the area I live. La Sierra/ Pierce hopefully when I get my R we can meet up sometime 👍
Aye I'm down to meet up!
this looks so fun
nice sound!
more pov plz!!
What shop did you go to for your muffler/resonator delete?
just a local muffler/auto shop around my neighborhood.
no drone while driving it? considering doing the same thing before i buy a full sys.
First couple of hundred miles has pretty loud drone. Once it's all burned in, the drown is pretty silent.

How’s the drone
how do you get your infotainment system to display that? i have 2021 type r and not sure how to change that. TIA
It’s just displaying my mpg’s. I always have this on because it’s also my daily. Just press on info at the home screen.
It’s very droney or is that just the sound recording quality?

Why isn’t your tire noise as loud as mine….
You by chance have a link to that phone mount?
I want a type r so badly, I got a 2018 hatchback but Idk how to drive stick shift on for the type r

How did you get your civic to become a manual??
Get a Civic Si or a Civic Type R. Those are the only manual Civics if you want a manual transmission.
What kinda rear view mirror is that??

double sided adhesive tape. the diecast also comes with a mount.

Would it pass the emissions or obd2 test state have it
I didn't remove the catalytic converter, so passing emissions shouldn't be a problem.
I test drove a type r yesterday and when I had 2 gear engaged, the gear lever still had some wiggle room... is that normal?

No its not.. 🤔
Mine is the same exact way.
Fly by clips?
I'll make one on my day off
Did you remove all three resonators? I did a muffler (2) delete and the mid-resonator.
I removed the big resonator, which I believe is the 12 inch one, and I removed two mufflers. It gets loud but not obnoxiously loud, I love it.
