This video is absolute mustard - great memories. Remember watching it in my bedroom as a youngster. WBA were in LC and FAC SF 1981/2 and were not good enough to get to either final...
Ossie Ardillies and Keith burkinshaw would manage west brom 11 years later, when we were in the 3rd tier, ossie would break our hearts and leave for spurs, after we beat Port Vale 3-0 at Wembley, burkinshaw would continue but with no cash and no appetite for the albion the 93/4 season was a battle, fortunately we survived relegation, he sacked early the following season .
There was a train strike that day, so the M1 and M6 were absolutely rammed. Load of Spurs rushed the gates before kick off and got in for free. Remember the two Spurs fans sitting on the roof.
I got ejected by the OB and watched most of the game in the BBC TV trailer outside until 15 mins from the end when I crept back in again. Loads of Spurs in home areas.
"Albion have a good recent record V Spurs, drawing 1 and winning 4 of the last 5"..But of course when it really mattered Albion didn't manage a goal in either leg!!
Jol got the winner in the league game at WHL that season www.espn.co.uk/football/english-premier-league/23/blog/post/3309297/martin-jol-chris-hughton-tottenham-connections-help-rise-to-top
duckjive1 what i still miss to watch as a LUFC fan is the match at the Hawthorns that Albion won 2-0 and safe from relegation as us Malaysians didn't watch live matches from UK then.
Remember listening to the 2nd leg on R2. 0 tv coverage. How times have changed.!

i was at the game
WBA had seen better days - the overly-physical approach minus Robbo = reflection of lost dynamism...
Yes spot on, we'd become quite physical at that point.
Ref did his best to spoil a tense game. 7 bookings 2 sending off's WTF?

WBA played in two semi finals and lost to Spurs and....QPR.
duckjive1 yes the fact is Ron Atkinson who transformed Albion to a force in the Firsr Division.
after Big Ron left Albion it was all over.

@Hannibal Barca Viv Anderson did not play for WBA. he played fot Nottingham Forest
@Hannibal Barca You're probably thinking of Brendan Batson.
I was at both , Highbury and west brom
Is there any highlights of the 2nd leg mate?
