- As an education volunteer, I was never clear exactly what Agfo (agro-forestry) volunteers did on a daily basis. Here was my chance to find out! In this video, I visit my friend Chad near Mamou and follow him around for a day.
I’m an education volunteer with Peace Corps Guinea who’s interested in using media to tell people’s stories. Part of my job as a volunteer includes addressing Peace Corps’ third goal, which involves educating others about Guineans. I also want to help you learn what life is like as a Peace Corps volunteer and living in a small Guinean village! It's really informative and at times heartwarming, and after learning more, has me interested in joining the peace corps after I finish college to explore the world we live on, but mainly to help others. I would love to know what Chad’s background is! I’m a hopeful PCV once I finish college (I’m currently completing the peace corps prep certificate program for college students) I’ll have a major in global food systems, though I’m working on bolstering my agricultural knowledge. Do you know if Chad had any previous experience in the field before joining?
Do they train you in your speciality, or do you need to come into the corps with your speciality?

We didn't have community development as a sector in Guinea
Is there any tree plantation work going on for timber harvesting?
Not to my knowledge in Guinea, maybe with another country of outside of Peace Corps
