I like the idea of the battery pack being used for multiple items and being mounted to the helmet, but then there’s the new overpriced helmet, to me a bump helmet is basically a butched up bicycle helmet, yes the construction is a bit sturdier but it’s still in the same category, their most budget friendly helmet is sub $400, and there is probably $25 worth of material in it, with labor I can see it costing MAYBE $200, then the ballistic helmets, omg!! $1k-$2k for a helmet rated for pistol rounds, negative on that ghost rider!! I’ve seen other ballistic rated helmets that do the same thing for far less, look up guard dog helmets, they cost $350, and can stop up to 44 mag, and stopped a 12 ga slug, I’m not saying you would survive that hit but it stopped it, so if small companies can make affordable options, so can companies like ops core and team Wendy , my rant is done, you may return to your regularly scheduled programming
Ops-Core/Gentex is a contractor for the government and so they legally can not sell their items to civilians for a cheaper price than they sell to the government which is why their bumps are so expensive along with the fact that they use their proprietary liner system and helmet cuts. I've also crunched the numbers and it's overall cheaper to buy the bump helmet compared to trying to retrofit a night vision shroud to a high quality bicycle helmet as helmet fatigue is a very real thing and bicycle helmets aren't really made with being a weight bearing piece on your head in mind. Shifting over to the ballistic helmets, I have one question to ask. How heavy are the helmets you're talking about and where are they manufactured because, and now we're looping back around to the fact that Ops-Core is a government contractor, all items for official military use are to be Berry Compliant which requires manufacturing and materials sourcing within the United States which also puts a much higher price tag on it automatically.
I’m aware of the contract issues, and all that go with it, as for helmet cuts, every company on the planet now uses the same type cuts for helmets, as for the other helmet that I mentioned, just look up guard dog body armor, they sell a ballistic helmet, that looks and weights identical to ops-core, and actually stops major rounds, for a price tag of $350, and I have a discount code for them to knock 15% off.
I totally understand that the cranial area of our body is very important, but what I dont understand is how a complete setup for the head can cost $20,000+. Maybe it's government contract? Government pays a lot for it so that must mean civilians have to pay alot for it. I just want protection and night vision for my head at a price that isn't going to make me go bankrupt.
@@ThinLineDefenseCo I was on an airplane when I watched and couldn’t hear sound. All I saw was what looked like a ballistic helmet with holes in it. Makes sense it’s a bump.
Love this format for Shot Show videos!!!
Get over here! Our feet are tired!

Man, 2025 I'm down to do all the walking for you guys
Nice setup with the battery pack!
This cat needs both
Need that raillink! When is it coming out?
They basically took the cinema camera D-link battery system and put it on a helmet 😂 Neat to see it crossover.
Pretty cool
Something that doesn’t aggravate old neck injuries and price?

The question I have is why is an IR flashlight 2,000 dollars but a regular flashlight is 8 dollars.
Holes on the top of the helmet for rounds to travel through? Sick!
well it's bump helmet McGenius pants lol
@@ThinLineDefenseCo debris, shrapnel. I’m good.
Bump helmets are designed only to protect you from bumping your head hence the name 🤦♂️ It's not Ops-Core's faulted your brain dead dude.
