The dream big panel is a great idea!! It really sets that cross off!It will be awesome! My hubby(81) is retired Army and has never had any hobbys. He was a medic (combat in Vietnam, 100% service connected agent Orange) and a nurse until he retired, never really learned how to do other things or keep his hands busy. He’s kept busy with family and church and loves talking to people, very social, but since Covid, he can’t do that and has really been bored. I on the other hand have my crafts, sewing, reading, etc and am admittedly could be a hermit. You don’t know how many times I’ve wanted to tell him to go do something! Im thankful my awesome hubby is. still around,(we survived Covid) but I truly wish he had a hobby besides the computer and old westerns!!
Thank you for the tip about using painter's tape to line up the end to end designs! I adapted it a bit, I ran that along my centre line to align my top hoop - I don't have a magnetic hoop big enough so I use double sided quilter's tape on the top hoop, stick it where it needs to go, then slip the bottom hoop under. I just use the painter's tape, and don't run the basting stitch with embroidery floss, I line it up then take that piece of the tape off once it's hooped. Much easier than trying to draw lines with a soluble marker across the quilt! Your method gave me the basics with some adaptations, so thanks very much!
After watching your video I decided to purchase an End-To-End design from JuJu. It worked GREAT. Thanks so much for inspiring me to try something different.
My mother who is 95 yrs old does beautiful hand embroidery, I tried but never really caught on because of my comparing mine to hers. I even have a quilt where I incorporated her embroidery within the quilt. Of course I was just learning to quilt and her embroidery definitely stands out!! Love that quilt!!
Hi I am new to your group and have enjoyed your talks. Can you share more about your Keto experiences. I have been trying to loose and you were a real inspiration. Thank you. Patty
What a great idea using the Dream Big panel for the Cross and Easter Lily. As you were holding the sections up I kept thinking what pretty pastel colors. I purchased a jellyroll, charm pack and yardage of the pink/red plaid of From Your Heart. Such pretty fabric. I'm cross stitching Sew By Row. Have the scissors stitched and will finish the last pincushion today. Then I can start the sewing machines. Lots of fun! See you next time.
Ok, friend you have to show us how you did the digitizing. Please, from your fellow ‘“Lumies “. Your videos also pick me up. You just keep being you. Thanks for sharing your passion. ‘
I am amazed at how great that panel fabric worked out. It is beautiful! I have one of those and one of the leaves. Haven't gotten in the mood to quilt them yet.
I keep my eye on Overstock too. My Granddaughter wants a t-shirt quilt and I recently got an entire bolt of SF101 for less than half. It should keep me for awhile. :) Good idea to scan the hand stitching in and make an embroidery design - I'll have to play around with IQ Designer.
Hi Becky, love, love all your videos. Got so excited with todays video esp with talk of converting the hand stitching to a pes file. Please, Please, Please make a video on that. I have a Dream2 but not Simply Aplique. At 69 I got it but now that I'm 70 .Pooofff my brain can't connect the dots. Have SNC & Canvas Workspace. Lol tell me there is hope without the step of Simply Aplique.
OMG, love that for the background. I had been looking at your background wondering what fabric it was. Gives me to ideas. Thx for the source at OESD for the tapes. I have some from Jennie Haskins, but was concerned could find it again.
Becky....I love your videos. Could you possibly do a short video showing how you did the Luminaire (or Solaris) file for the cord and needles etc for the Lori Holt quilts? I have a Solaris and love Lori Holt but like you don’t want to do the hand embroidery. Thank you!
Hi, Love your videos. I am having problems with knots at the start of a design. I am pulling up the bobbin thread, keeping the threads either loose or just leaving them on the quilt top, sewing a few stitches then cutting off the tails, then I see a booger. What am I doing wrong???
You could have your shirts done by a print on demand service(such as printful.com), then people can get size they want without holding inventory and fulfilling yourself.
I've considered that and have looked at the printful site (prices are much higher than in my store). I get my shirts from a small start-up and we are friends with their parents so I try to help them out and appreciate their personalized service. They are doing great and one day may get so big that they can no longer support my small orders but until then, I've got to help out the little guy. :)
Thank you for this! Say you're quilting end to end with an embroidery design and you're at the end and the fabric is too small for the hoop. How do you finish it? Smaller hoop? But will the machine ignore the part of the design that doesn't fit? I have a Brother SE1900.
You're supposed to just let the design finish off the edge or stop the machine when it will no longer pass over the fabric. The designs are not meant to be constrained within the edges of a project.
I have a question about the end to end embroidery quilting. What do you do when you get towards the end or side and you don't have enough room for a full design?
Can you send me links for all the tutorials for edge-to-edge quilting using an embroidery machine. I got as far as designing the two 5X7's and saving them but I've never done this before so I need to know the rest. Thank you!
I do have the tape from Amazon but only for projects that don't involve End-to-End designs. The other tape is thrown away after use but using E2E designs, the tape can be left in the project under the binding.
My Solaris tells us where to start the ETE pattern. I still have a problem determining how to position my project! Is there anywhere I can go to see how it’s done? I don’t seem to be able to figure it out! ( newbie here!)
It's not you... The problem with the background quilting designs in the Solaris IQ Design or Luminaire Design Center, is that they are designed for a single overall pass vs. end-to-end quilting. Think like on a pot holder vs. a quilt. Aligning the edges of the background quilting patterns using the machine is impossible. They are not called Edge-to-Edge (or e2e) designs; they are called Background Quilting designs. Big difference. Unfortunately, the engineers who design these are not quilters. If you want to quilt a quilt, then I recommend an e2e design from DBJJ.
Hi from Scotland I have bought a 12 x 7 magnetic frame for my v3le I am having problems lining up my edge to edge as I didn’t get the plastic piece for the middle to match it up 😱
I'm so sorry, but we're not shipping to Mexico because the shipping options in our store site are not friendly to shipping anywhere else but Canada & Australia. We don't even ship to the UK any longer because the online sales & VAT tax collection is so confusing.
I do not have Embrilliance and I tried stitching out on stabilizer to make a template...my Brother XV8500D would take 15 stitches and stop to tell me to rethread the upper thread. HELP
thanks, I'll try that...this afternoon I just took scraps from stash and some stabilizer and stitched them out....then hung for storage from a pants hanger😊
I've just discovered you ... omg ! How did I miss you . Looking around your room & fell in love with your sewing machines wall hanging ! Do you have a pattern or know where I could find it ? TIA
Because of your great instruction and enthusiasm I quilted on my Embroidery machine. Put together the Jolly Snowflake quilt before the holidays and quilted it last week with the snowflake design from JuJu. I just love it, sewing on the binding now. Your information about aligning the pattern is such a great idea and will try that on the next quilt. Did you say what the largest quilt you would do using this system? Maybe I missed that info. I also purchased the heart design and quilted potholders and the back of pillows. Thanks so much!
That is Print and Stick Target Paper from Designs in Machine Embroidery www.shop.dzgns.com/collections/tools-acessories/products/print-stick-target-paper?p=S1z1p1FgS
Appreciated your additional instructions on the end to end by JuJu... but I have to ask... how long did it take you to find your hand sewing needles.... ha ha ha (couldn’t resist)

What a great idea!!!

Hi Neighbor!
That’s the reason I was brave enough the E2E this weekend,
Awesome! Proud of you!
Hi I just happened to find your you tube and enjoy your lessons. I do machine embroidery and was on JUJU site looking at her designs.
So glad you're here!
“Keith, go DO something!” I can hear Becky telling him that all the way in WA State!
I absolutely love your sew alongs! Can’t wait to start Easter Sew along. 😊

I just ordered a pattern from Villa Rosa, and was surprised to find there was no shipping charge!
Becky, you should embroider each of your machine names in that white area in each of your sew by row sewing machines.
Great idea!

Hey Becky! Love the video! I'm doing the sew by row cross stitch by Lori Holt.

I have a question about the end to end embroidery quilting. What do you do when you get towards the end or side and you don't have enough room for a full design?
I love that you’re affiliated with Designs by JuJu too!,
Can you use the end-to-end quilt pattern w/ a single needle embroidery machine. Or does it need to be on a long arm?
It is done in embroidery
You can use a single or multi-needle. I show how to do both in the introductory video. ua-cam.com/video/xFXj06X8ftk/v-deo.html

🥰
Do the USB sticks come with a GB 1?
I don't know yet how many GB the Brother Luminaire XP1 takes. I know that would know that answer.😊😊😊😊
They are 4GB. The Lumi reads from them just fine. :)

from in the Hoop projects that are in CM . Is there an easy way to change to inches.
Google has calculators! www.convertunits.com/from/cm/to/inches
Hi from Scotland I have bought a 12 x 7 magnetic frame for my v3le I am having problems lining up my edge to edge as I didn’t get the plastic piece for the middle to match it up 😱
A you use these on a bern(N.A. 570 we machine?
Yes absolutely!
Could you show how to scan and make an embroidery in the 10 needle?
How do print out the pattern? I have downloaded some designs, but I’m notable to print them Do you have to have a special program?
Yes! You can do a free download of Embrilliance Express and it will allow you to print! Here's a link - bit.ly/3Zqvbai
How much for the stilettos?
What do you do when you get to the quilt edges and the pattern will go over the edge?
Once the machine won't make any more passes on the quilt top, I just stop the machine, tie off, and begin the next row.
But from what store did you purchase your t-shirt???
I would love one of those stilleto/ripper tools. Will you ship to Mexico?
I'm so sorry, but we're not shipping to Mexico because the shipping options in our store site are not friendly to shipping anywhere else but Canada & Australia. We don't even ship to the UK any longer because the online sales & VAT tax collection is so confusing.
where do I find how to order the seam ripper from your hubby? Thanks!
Here you go! powertoolswiththreadstore.com
What is the most USB GB that you use on the Luminaire XP1? 😊 😊 😊 😊
My USB's are 4GB and they work just fine.
I do not have Embrilliance and I tried stitching out on stabilizer to make a template...my Brother XV8500D would take 15 stitches and stop to tell me to rethread the upper thread. HELP
You might try "flossing " between thread guides 2 & 3.
thanks, I'll try that...this afternoon I just took scraps from stash and some stabilizer and stitched them out....then hung for storage from a pants hanger😊
Can't locate the download page for cutting instructions. Help!
The stilettos/unpickers would cost too much to Queensland Australia. I would love to purchase

I do cross stitch but not hand embroidery
Eat local bee pollen … no allergies!
Well, you have a machine to do it so fast : )
I don't hand stitch either! Don't even do hems by hand.
Becky, where can I purchase the hanger above you head on back wall with Today is Amazing. I need info on the hanger.

I use medical tape
I think when watching on a smart TV or Fire stick, you can’t “subscribe”. You need to subscribe on a phone, tablet, or computer, or it’s mor difficult to subscribe.
Why do you draw online then put on tape, then stitch the line instead of just using the line that you drew on
The fabric becomes very wrinkled during the process so I iron quite a bit. I find myself ironing my line away! lol
