I HATE the way our society has become a "throw away society". This car only needed a distributor to run but who ever had it decided that instead of spending a few hundred it was worth it to them to just throw it away. Its a damn shame and I am GLAD that you are saving this amazing vehicle.
I see this all the time at junkyards. There have been times I’ve grabbed a fried main relay from the yard and realized THAT was probably the reason the car was there in the first place… I also just got a 1990 EX sedan for 800 because it wouldn’t pass emissions..
@@rgreerjr Normal people just have no clue that these old civics are worth big money now. Its not a "society" issue. Its a cultural thing. Normal non-enthusiast think that only classic american cars are worth money when old....more for us! lol
90s hondas was all junked at one point because you had “mechanics” who thought changing a dizzy, coil pack, changing out the fuel pump 10 times , change out all the sensors was going to fix the issue, and they give up without knowing the ecu was the issue the entire time ive seen plenty of egs and efs with brand new everything dizzy oxygen sensors map sensors idle air control valves to find out when i pull the ecu either its burnt out because of water ,corrision or the “typical fuel pump delay”
EF’s will always have a special place in my heart as it was my first Honda, this color is my favorite OE. I’ve been looking for a cx eg in exact color to rebuild one day as clean as this one 🥹

Most would agree it is reliable and solid because its a DX (manual everything) and not jammed full of electronics and looks like people have kept there hands out of the electricals! Number one killer of cars is people simply cant help but f*** with a cars wiring for some unknown reason i have never been able to figure out????

But at the end that ef is such ina 10:10 condition tbh it saves anyone from spending months to years to be finind parts to bring it back to the condition it currently sits in, it just sucks in today age to go multiple junk yard trips to keep finding lil plastics or major parts to bring back to oem, or spending hundred to thousands for parts to get shipped from california (since most collectors are over there) The price youll be asking for will be worth it No waiting or calling body shop asking when the car will be done etc etc

Good job sir, I'm a fellow 91 Dx owner. Mine is far from stock , she makes almost 400whp with a built boosted b16a Lsv swap , jdm Y1 LSD trans, etc. Keep that girl alive.
Amazing save that baby could be in a lot worse shape and far as paint shops you pay for what you get they are not going to take the time to cut in and mask off or take off pieces if so you will pay for every little clip nut and bolt removed panel and trim I have spent some years in a restoration shop believe me I know the whole process that is still a great job done for the price

Imo the main thing that made an si an si is the sunroof, the seats/door panels, and the steering rack. At this day and age the motor is whatever. Every ef hatch chassis had the option for ac, rear speaker pods, rear cargo cover, the arm rest, and the lower console. As far as a build chasis all that is irrelevant

Whoever painted the car did a really trashy job they paint everything that was supposed to be black green which included the mirrors the moldings the grill and the roof strips and the bee pillar trim I hope you paid under $1,000 to get that thing painted

That's a great deal on that paint job. Most people aren't building show cars. For the vast majority of people driving older cars, that's good enough.
Slap a z6 or y8 head on it with a y8 intake manifold. All ya need to have a fun little ef.

Fidanza light weight flywheel ,stage 2 clutch kit & a B16 trans with Ls 5th gear. Then he'll have a super fun car.
