Race in Peace McClyde! Dude, that shirt :D nice to see some more 3D Botmaker fans. Good selection of cars by the way, i hope to get the Volvo as fast as possible, as i am unlikely to manage to get a pendle Slot one. Sadly sometimes it is hard to get all the good UK stuff here in germany, even some of the scalextric cars.
Another car I used to have in the dim and distant past, if they make a racing one I'll be getting one and stripping it so it can go Inca yellow with a black vinyl roof :D
I remember you got a both Golf and a Mitsubishi in slot car form as you had owned the real things. When my kids were young I owned a 93 Volvo 850 Estate, it was a great family car and a very capable tow car but I was gobsmacked when one appeared in the BTCC. I've toyed with building the resin kit version but I don't have the skills of Rob at Swift Slots so it has never happened. When I saw that Scalextric are producing one for 2025 it was a no brainer, the pre-order went in yesterday afternoon. I just hope for two things, 1) the quality control is up to scratch, 2) a 2025 model actually arrives in 2025 - I'm still waiting for my Cadillac V series from the 2024 catalogue
Nice pick Dave, I think they have smashed it out the park with 2025 releases. Something for everyone. The question is, will the quality control be there in 2025.
I think there’s more there for the youngsters than first glance might suggest. The Lambo and GMA are both new cars, there’s the Le Mans Porker and Caddy, plus the Mustang and another AMG. And another Puma rally car and another modern Mini. I wonder if there will be more ‘surprise’ releases of a more modern flavour later. My biggest hope is that the ride heights on some of the new cars (Volvo, BMW, …) live up to the pictures. It would be depressing to see them in the flesh and realise that they’re more ’all terrain’ than race track ready. Good choices Dave. Maybe we’ll see a Pikes Peak version of that Cuda too.
Just a lurker here. Most excited about the Captain Scarlet patrol car! Always wanted the Dinkey (or Corgi?) as a young lad in the 60s and never got one😢. So now it’s on pre order. Hopefully the QA is better on the new range! Had a couple of disappointments over Xmas
Hi Dave, interesting to see Scalextric use the standard body for the 306 Polley Anglia. If only they had used the same body as they used on the Ford Anglia 105E C4489 (Limited Edition) Burton Power Martin Reynolds. Polley’s wheels were very wide banded steel rims and it looks like they’ve completely missed this. I fear another scalextric failure coming along. Can’t wait to see your take on the 306 Polley Anglia. Great channel 👍👍
I was thinking that but that's not really right either, they said in their release video they have made changes to the mold for this so I'm hoping the rendering on the standard car is nothing more than that. The Polley family have apparently signed off on things like the decals being in the right places though so should be better than the Collard one. Strange car to do though the '77/'78 car as it was never as good as it's predecessor nor it's successor, but it is the one with the gold roof I guess.
@ Hi Dave, couldn’t agree more, why choose the poorest car? I think you being very optimistic about decal placement, I only see another Duffy Collard disaster. But hopefully I’m wrong….
Thanks for sharing Dave! I'm probably in the minority but I've never really followed racing but I love cars so I tend to pick by what looks attractive to me more than anything followed by how good I think they'll drive. I learned from your chat for sure! 😊
I had to chuckle when I saw that Anglia (given your previous video on chopping the other one). Not a bad looking livery. Not well known in the States, but that Volvo wagon seems to getting lots of pre-sale buzz. Might even stick it on the buy list. Finally, not a big set buyer, but the 1963 Monaco 2-car set is calling my name. Time to add some vintage F1 to the collection.
I have a vague recollection of my Dad talking about it when I was a kid and they were re-running Thunderbirds on the precursor to "childrens TV in the summer holidays" , but I don't ever remember watching it like I did Thunderbirds, I remember Fireball XL5 more as they re-ran that too.
Yes, these are five great new cars Dave and, excepting the 71 'Cuda, British national heritage culture here too. I do have to say I am getting a bit bewildered by Scalextric. Maybe I am just getting old? All this seems to me like standing on some gantry bridge gantry as a steady stream of cars whizz by in a blur. There's too much here for me to take in just right now and, of course, we do otherwise need to be cautions and manage our expectations when it comes to end product quality. Otherwise, yes, let's be glass half full because this is big ambition but let's too remind ourselves that these are just pre release artistic impressions and so let's first see these and talk about them more when they are in the process of being shipped when the time is right. As a general trend I've noticed more Scalextric without the digital DPR door. Is anyone still running Scalextric digital? Is anyone still running Scalextric track?
I think it’s marketing if they are removing the DPR door Plenty of people without Scalextric track buy their cars especially people like me with a digital track If the DPR goes sales will go 🍻
My real criticism is the age group it's targeted at, it's great if you were born before 1980 but there really isn't very much for the future of the hobby

Thoughts and waivers to his family lol
I've pre ordered the two Polley cars Dave and can totally see why the other 3 are in your top 5. Great chat as always 👍👍👍
I'm now considering getting the F2 stock car from pendle and doing the Dave Polley car in the legendary purple and white to go with them
I'd love to see you do that Dave and then buy it off you 🙏🙏🙏
@@robertsale6528 that'll be... a million pounds :D
🤣😮🤣😮🤣😮🤣
Nive review Dave, the Volvo's are legendary!
Dave so glad you brought up the Dolomite Sprint and why no triumph has ever been done hope they hear you lol
Another car I used to have in the dim and distant past, if they make a racing one I'll be getting one and stripping it so it can go Inca yellow with a black vinyl roof :D
Great picks Dave 🎉
Nice selections for your top 5!🏁
Agreed on the Volvo Dave ,ile definitely save to buy this one 👍 maybe the anglia but im hoping for a better livery ( more colorful) maybe next year 😊

@SlotCarMike on that note, I also had an 88 Sierra sapphire so that should probably go on the list too
Nice choices Dave. Saw George drive many time back in the day. Agree about the roll cage. Also that 850 is awesome.
Nice one dave like the choices
Thought the same about the chassis. There's a few I'd like to see at full chat!!
Nice pick Dave, I think they have smashed it out the park with 2025 releases. Something for everyone. The question is, will the quality control be there in 2025.
Something for everyone... over 40 I'd say, for us it's great, for the kids.... maybe not so much

And a T50.s Niki Lauda, now that would be nice…
The engine in that 850 btcc car is mental, the work they did that was barely legal is nuts. Love it

Nice picks Dave.
I was watching the BTTC in the 90s, I loved it, those Volvos were joked about but they were damn good cars.
Like your picks!!!
I watched your ads… twice. Great picks for you Dave.
😂😂
Yay ! Goerge Polly 👏 could be my first brand new scalextric car purchase since getting back into the hobby 🤔
It's enough to make you play Mouldy old dough isn't it?
I picked 6, we matched on one😂 but after watching this video, I might have to bump it up to 10 😅😊
Enjoyed as always !

Good chat Dave, it's the Capri and Anglia for me.
My top 5 would be very similar love the history and background info Dave
Good Chat.
Just a quick question, Dave. What does the flag on the wall behind you represent? A cool but rather eclectic choice of cars by the way.
Sparta Wroclaw in Poland is my favourite motorcycle speedway team
Great video Dave really enjoyed that

I did know quite a while ago the polley car was coming , been keeping quiet on that 😉
I had an 850 estate so for sure that one os on my radar!
everyones i think lol
My top 5 is a bit different, 1st I’d take the castrol Camaro then possibly the AMG, definitely the Shelby gulf mustang.
Good chat .
Not a fan of the Captain Scarlet vehicles then Dave? Nice review and enjoy the info you add.

Why don't they make a Morgan 3 wheel. I believe they have a Reliant.
They are all kind of bla looking this year for me, your first two are ok to me I think the LMP cars are the best ones they did this year?
My real criticism is the age group it's targeted at, it's great if you were born before 1980 but there really isn't very much for the future of the hobby
@@slotr Agree 100% they could make a lot of more modern cars. Would be nice to make the new dodge challenger and other modern cars there are so many!
Mopar 🏁🏆
